A Bollywood star in the making? Cricketer David Warner dresses up as Indian superhero Baahubali after becoming a viral sensation on TikTok

His wife, Candice, recently revealed his viral TikTok videos had led to interest from Bollywood film directors.

And now it appears more likely that Australian cricketer David Warner will pursue a career in the prolific Indian film industry.

The 33-year-old sportsman shared a photo to Instagram on Thursday of himself dressed as Bollywood superhero Baahubali.

David wore a warrior costume similar to the one worn by popular action star Prabhas.

His costume comprised a muscle suit with an armour-style vest and cuffs, and a large chain around his neck.

David posted the image alongside one of Prabhas in the costume, before asking his followers which one they liked best.

The batsman also uploaded a short clip of himself in costume lip-syncing to a scene from 2015 action film Baahubali: The Beginning.

The footage has been liked more than two million times on TikTok as of Friday.

The father-of-three was joined in the video by his four-year-old daughter, Indi Rae, who was dressed as a tiger.

David is enjoying newfound fame in India after his TikTok dance videos went viral in the country.

His wife, Candice, told the Herald Sun last month that a Bollywood film career might be on the cards.

‘David has had a few Bollywood directors approach him for some upcoming roles in films,’ said the 35-year-old former Ironwoman.

Of course, he would not be the first Australian cricketer to be drawn to the bright lights of Bollywood.

Former pace bowler Brett Lee made his debut in the film UNindian in 2015.

The movie tells the story of an Indian-Australian woman who pursues a relationship with a non-Indian man, played by Brett, much to her family’s disappointment.

Not only was the film a smash hit, but the ex-sportsman topped the music charts in India with his song You’re the One For Me.
