She’s been self-isolating with her sister Elle during the coronavirus lockdown.

And Dakota Fanning cut a solo figure on Wednesday as she carried an armful of food from her home in Los Angeles.

The Hollywood actress, 26, kept things casual in a loose-fitting black dress and protected herself with a colourful blue and pink face mask as she ran errands.

Out and about: Dakota Fanning cut a solo figure on Wednesday as she carried an armful of food from her home in Los Angeles.

Dakota appeared relaxed as she made her way around in her long-line linen dress which featured white buttons that ran down the front.

The star added a pair of flat black sandals to her look, while she also carried her essentials in a shoulder bag slung over her arm.

The Hide and Seek actress, who carefully balanced containers of food, swept her blonde locks in a half up, half down style and shielded her eyes with a trendy pair of brown sunglasses.

Earlier in the month, Dakota took to Instagram to reveal that the second season of her series The Alienist: Angel of Darkness would be premiering one week early on TNT.

She included the series’ epic promotional poster in her post, which showed her donning a blue, off the shoulder dress as she posed next to her co-stars Daniel Bruhl and Luke Evans.

The Alienist first premiered in 2018 and is a crime series inspired by the best-selling book of the same name by Caleb Carr.

According to the series’ synopsis, The Alienist is ‘set amidst the vast wealth, extreme poverty and technological innovation of 1896 New York’ and follows Fanning and her co-stars as they attempt to track down a ‘ritualistic killer.’

Meanwhile, Dakota’s fellow actress sister Elle recently opened about life in locktown with her sister, mother and grandmother.

The Maleficent star told Variety last month of their family quarantine: ‘I’ve been with my sister and my mom and my grandmother cooking and baking a lot.

‘My sister has been doing paint by numbers, and also this kind of bedazzling thing. Everyone’s embroidering. We’re getting creative. I’m doing a jigsaw puzzle of the Top Gun movie poster.’

She also talked about what made her and Dakota want to do The Nightingale, a coming-of-age film about two sisters in Nazi-occupied France.

Elle said: ‘I think it’s the right timing in our lives now. It’s really going to mean something because it’s not like we’re just super young doing it. Right now we’re women. Our relationship too is also more friends at this point because we’re only four years apart. When you’re young, your sisters and you are fighting all the time and stealing each other’s clothes.

‘I’d heard about the book for a while, and it’d been kind of floating around for a bit. The book is so powerful. Also, we were curious: If we did something together, would we play sisters? Or would we not play sisters? People are like, “Well, you look similar.” We think we look nothing alike, but this is a true sister story. I can’t get through the script without sobbing.’

Although the film’s release was pushed back to December 2021, she can currently be seen starring as Catherine the Great in Hulu’s The Great.

Dakota can next be seen in Viena & The Fantomes, which premiered June 30 on VOD, and season two of her show The Alienist premieres July 26 on TNT.
