Dancing On Ice star Matt Evers reveals he’s suffering from coronavirus symptoms

Matt Evers has revealed that he’s been suffering from coronavirus-like symptoms, amid the pandemic that has affected the world.

The Dancing On Ice pro dancer, 44, told how he has felt ‘really sick’ and is panicked that he may have contracted the COVID-19 virus from a Sport Relief colleague – though he’s yet to be tested.

Speaking to The Sun Online, the ice skater also admitted that he’s been feeling ‘really down’ after being forced to self-isolate for five days.

He said: ‘I’ve been very sick for the past 5 days. I’ve been having flu symptoms and been really spaced out. I’ve been down, thinking what am I? Who am I? I can’t get home to my family in the States too, I have elderly parents so I’ve been feeling pretty helpless.’

Matt made history on this year’s show after forming the show’s very first same-sex partnership alongside Ian ‘H’ Watkins.

However, he admitted that once the ITV skating show had wrapped, it was a ‘massive comedown’ after months of being so busy.

He told the publication: ‘Also after DOI it’s a massive comedown. You’re used to working out daily, getting calls from producers three times a day, but all this has stopped. I can’t work out because I have been too sick.’

But the star told how he’d been concentrating on getting better and thanked H and former skate partner Candice Brown for their support.

He added: ‘I’m focusing on getting better. I’m so lucky I’ve been leaning on H for support, and Candice who have been amazing.’

A representative for Matt told MailOnline: ‘Despite being away from his family in the U.S, he’s doing well, with the support of friends here in the UK in FaceTime and phone calls.’

Matt’s post comes just hours after Fiona Phillips revealed on Twitter that she was suffering from coronavirus.
