The singer began her career as a Disney Channel star and admits she’s not in touch with all her former Disney pals, including once close friend Selena Gomez.

Demi admits the duo lost touch in recent years and she didn’t know how to feel when Selena applauded her return to the spotlight at the Grammys in January with an Instagram post.

‘When you grow up with somebody, you’re always going to have love for them. But I’m not friends with her, so [the Instagram post] felt… ,’ she said before stopping herself.

‘I will always have love for her, and I wish everybody nothing but the best.’

Selena gave her childhood pal a shout-out after her emotional performance of Anyone at the 2020 Grammys. It was her first performance following her drug overdose in July 2018.

‘I wish there were words to describe how beautiful, inspiration, and DESERVED this moment was,’ Selena wrote on Instagram stories next to an image of Demi receiving a standing ovation.

‘Demi I’m so happy for you. Thank you for your courage and bravery,’ she added.

Demi also revealed she’s no longer in contact with the Jonas Brothers but is still friends with Miley Cyrus.

Demi recently appeared on Miley’s webcast Bright Minded.

‘I talk to Miley [Cyrus]. She’s awesome, and I love her to death and always will, always have,’ Demi said. ‘But I think she’s kind of the only one from that era that I still stay in touch with.’

The Sorry Not Sorry hitmaker opened up about her relationship with ex-boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama who was by her bedside during her hospitalization in 2018 despite them not being a couple.

Demi dated the That ’70s Show star for six years, splitting in 2016.

‘I’m really happy for him and I wish him nothing but the best, but we’re not in each other’s lives, haven’t spoken in a long time.

‘But I think I needed that because I needed to learn to be okay on my own. When you get into a relationship with somebody at that young of an age and then you spend six years with somebody, you don’t really get to learn about yourself.’

Wilmer, 40, got engaged to model girlfriend Amanda Pacheco in January.

Looking ahead to the future the Albuquerque-born star says she may end up having children with a woman, it all depends on who she has a connection with.

‘When I imagine my life in the future, I don’t say, “I’m looking for a man who I want to have two or three kids with.

‘I think it could be so much fun to share children with a woman … So I don’t know what my future will look like, and I’m open to anything.

‘People always ask me, “What’s your type?” And I’m like, “Have you seen my history?” There is no type. It is solely off connection. I wish I could say, “I only date attractive people.” But I don’t,’ Demi said, laughing.
