So it was only fitting that Demi Lovato would be on hand to present her old pal Miley Cyrus with a Webby Award on Tuesday.
The 27-year-old Confident singer honored the Wrecking Ball singer, also 27, for her new Instagram talk show Bright Minded.

Miley originally started her show as a way of coping with the coronavirus pandemic and lifting the spirits of her fans, so Demi put the show in that context.
‘I don’t have to tell you that this pandemic has affected every area of our lives. It’s created massive global challenges and uncertainty. And one of the main questions that I know I face from the beginning, and I know many others face too, was a very important one: What is Miley Cyrus up to?’
She went on to praise Miley’s show Bright Minded for giving its viewers a way to connect during the pandemic, while also having plenty of light entertainment to make them laugh.
‘Miley’s used her platform to cover topics all the way from the importance of reliable news sources to self-love practices that work for her. She’s also given us plenty of straight-up fun and laughs, as only she can,’ she said.

Demi presented her with a Special Achievement Webby, before Miley appeared in a pre-taped segment to give her five-word acceptance speech, a tradition for the attention-challenged award ceremony.

Since it was the Special Achievement award, Miley hadn’t originally been nominated in any of the preexisting categories.
She created her series Bright Minded as a way to stay busy amid her quarantine at home, and she’s interviewed a variety of people, from friends like Hailey Bieber and Selena Gomez to politicians including Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren.

She wore a white blouse and stood in front of an array of metallic blue tinsel, the same backdrop that she sang her song The Climb in front of for Facebook’s virtual commencement.
