Fellow reality stars vying for a spot also reportedly include Love Island’s Dr Alex George, 30, TOWIE’s Billie Faiers, 30, Made In Chelsea’s Olivia Bentley, 24, and Ru Paul’s Drag Race star Baga Chipz, 30.

Singer Toyah Wilcox, 62, is also said to have tried out along with comedian Rufus Hound, 41, This Morning star Lisa Maxwell, 56, Tattoo Fixers star Stephen ‘Sketch’ Porter and vlogger LadBaby, 33.

A source told the website there was an ‘undercurrent of competition’ during the auditions as work is scarce during the COVID-19 crisis.

They said: ‘Everyone was in high spirits and excited to be working again.

‘Places on a primetime show are lucrative and contestants get a huge career boost by taking part.

‘There are likely to be other auditions for celebrities based in more remote areas, and even abroad.’

‘I am broken hearted to announced that I have recently been informed that I will not be re-contracted for Dancing On Ice 2021 series.

‘I am so grateful for the three years that I had on this incredible show and I will wholeheartedly miss everyone and everything about it. [sic]’

Despite her upset, Alex went on to look at the bright side as she looked to the future and thanked her fans and colleagues.

She added: ‘Though I am heartbroken, I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, and although this hurts right now, I will pick myself up and look forward towards the future.
