Bachelor in Paradise was rocked by scandal on Tuesday night after ex-lovers Ciarran Stott and Renee Barrett had a very emotional reunion.
Now, rumours are swirling that Ciarran and Renee’s former relationship was a lot more serious than has previously been reported.
On Monday, Woman’s Day published photos that purportedly showed Ciarran proposing to Renee during their trip to Bali in August last year – about two weeks after he left The Bachelorette.

‘Onlookers reveal the funnyman, 26, got down on bended knee for the brunette beauty who appeared elated by the proposal,’ the magazine reported.
Despite Woman’s Day’s claims, however, the photo actually looks like Ciarran simply fell over in front of his girlfriend.
On Tuesday’s episode of Bachelor in Paradise, Renee was in two minds about whether she should reveal a ‘secret’ about her relationship with the former Army rifleman.

Romantic getaway: In August, about two weeks after he left The Bachelorette, Ciarran enjoyed a romantic holiday in Bali with Renee, who had briefly appeared on Matt Agnew’s season of The Bachelor earlier that year. Pictured together with friends
The newcomer eventually caved in and revealed Ciarran was speaking to her while he was filming Angie Kent’s season of The Bachelorette, even suggesting he left the show to rekindle their relationship.
When he left The Bachelorette last year in July, Ciarran explained to Angie that he was grieving his grandmother, who had just died in England.
What he failed to tell Angie was that he was also nursing a broken heart following his split from Renee, whom he’d previously dated when they were both living in Darwin.

Just days after leaving the mansion, Ciarran reunited with Renee.
Speaking exclusively to Daily Mail Australia last year, an insider revealed: ‘All Ciarran wanted to do when he found out the news [about his grandmother] was get away from all of the cameras and just be with Renee.’
‘As soon as he arrived in Darwin, they got back together. It was like the death had put everything into perspective for them.
‘They were together for years and their split was still relatively fresh. There was no doubt they still loved each other despite both trying to move on.’
