Speaking on Breakfast with Gawndy and Maz on Friday, the 40-year-old read an open letter to women who have lost babies.

Maz said she was moved to make the address after learning that Chrissy Teigen and John Legend had lost their third child halfway through Chrissy’s pregnancy.

Her voice breaking and clearly in tears, Maz told listeners:  ‘Tragedy doesn’t discriminate.

‘My heart broke for Chrissy as I read the news of her family’s darkest hour. Nothing can prepare you for such a loss.

‘The grief hits you like a truck. The pain is so deep it numbs you for a moment. There is disbelief when you realise you won’t be taking your baby home with you where they belong.

‘I know this pain because I have walked through it myself. In May this year I suffered a miscarriage,’ she revealed, chocking back tears.

Maz continued: ‘It was a physically traumatic and emotional event that is impossible to explain. I cried for the loss of my baby then and hearing Chrissy’s story took me right back to the pain.

The radio star said that, ‘Women don’t tend to talk about it openly,’ and called for the ‘suffering in silence’ to end.

‘So many others have been in that pit of grief where you are, and there is a way out, it just takes time.

‘To Chrissy to my girlfriends and the army of women who have lost a baby, may you feel heard, may you be held and may each of you have the courage to love again,’ she concluded, openly weeping.

The open letter comes after Chrissy Teigen announced she and her husband John Legend have lost their baby, days after she was admitted to the hospital with severe bleeding.

The model, 34, shared the heartbreaking news with a lengthy post and series of images on social media on Wednesday night, saying their little boy, Jack, has died following ‘so many complications’.

Chrissy wrote in her post: ‘We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before. We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough’.

The devastating post included five black and white photos taken at the hospital, showing Chrissy crying on her bed as well as a shot showing her and John cradling their son.

On Monday, Chrissy, who conceived daughter Luna, four, and son Miles, two, through IVF with John, 41, revealed she was on ‘serious bed rest’ due to bleeding and said she was ‘about halfway through her pregnancy’, which is around 20 – 24 weeks.
