This is the shocking moment a helpless dog is forced to run dangerously close to a moving car as its cruel owner holds the lead while driving down a Scottish road.
The dog, thought to be a lurcher or greyhound, runs beside the grey car as it travels along the wrong side of a rural road near Lochgelly, Fife.

Police Scotland have launched an investigation into the footage and are calling on members of the public to come forward with any information.
The video has sparked outrage among local animal campaign groups, including the dog walking company GeoPaw Cowdenbeath.
A spokesperson for the company said: ‘I almost cannot believe what I’m seeing.
‘This may look funny to some folk but going by comments from those who have seen the video the dog was absolutely terrified.
‘It’s also extremely dangerous and just the height of stupidity.
‘It’s unbelievable that any human can treat animals like this in this day and age. It’s just sickening.’
One dog owner suggested police should be treating the incident with greater urgency.
Dog owner Jennifer Sterritt said: ‘I’ve seen time and time again, people complaining about all types of animal abuse, but they are letting the animals down big time.’

The Scottish Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals said the matter had not been reported to it, but Police Scotland would act as the lead agency for any investigation.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: ‘An officer attended but the vehicle wasn’t traced. Enquiries are ongoing.’
