Dorinda Medley admits she ‘could have handled things differently’ with Tinsley Mortimer on RHONY

Things turned sour between Dorinda Medley and Tinsley Mortimer this season on the Real Housewives of New York. 

Season 12 of the hit Bravo show has been a roller coaster from the start, and Dorinda sat down exclusively with DailyMailTV to talk about whether or not she has any ‘regrets’ about how things were handled. 

It’s been an emotional few episodes for the star who has also been dealing with the end of her long term relationship with John Mahdessian while cameras rolled. 

‘I had a difficult start,’ Dorinda explained. ‘I was coming into it with a lot of personal things going on in my life.’ 

‘I came into [it] with a house disaster, you know, I broke my rib, Lucy died, I was sort of reevaluating my relationship with John,’ she listed. ‘I wasn’t only reconstructing the house. I was reconstructing my life along with it.’ 

Prior to the season, a flood had practically destroyed the 55-year-old reality star’s beautiful home in the Berkshires.  

Dorinda revealed that she isn’t always ‘great’ at expressing herself when she is having a hard time emotionally – and some of that struggle was captured on the show this season.

In one episode, Ramona Singer publicly accused Dorinda of attacking people to cover up her own personal distress during a heated exchange at a cocktail party. 

The argument ultimately ended dramatically with Ramona kicking Medley out of the event.

She’s also been butting heads with co-star Tinsley Mortimer both on and off camera.

The RHONY group trip to an apple orchard was an utter disaster that ended in tears after Dorinda and Tinsley had a nasty verbal spat and Tinsley accused her of being a ‘bully.’

‘I believe when I’m on the show I don’t go on the show with a script,’ she said. ‘Of course, I could have handled it differently,’ she reflected on her recent drama with Tinsley Mortimer.  

Adding: ‘You know, I wish Tinsley super well. I’m glad she’s happy. I pray it works out. But at the time, that was my journey.’ 

Dorinda also took umbrage with the fact that Mortimer seemed keen to talk about Medley’s failed relationship with John but is notoriously cagey about her own personal life.  

In 2019, after a seven-year relationship, Dorinda and John split following a rough patch, and the blonde entrepreneur says that she’s been working to become a new person. 

‘I think I’ve come a long way,’ she said. ‘I think I’ve I’ve really grasped on to my independence. I’ve grown and I feel proud of myself.’

‘You always have regrets,’ Dorinda admitted. ‘Well, we can take care of all that at the reunion.’  

As for when the Housewives will be able to hash things out at the reunion? Dorinda says she and her co-stars are totally in the dark about the plans. 

‘You know, we’ve heard nothing,’ she revealed. ‘I know everybody thinks that we have some, you know, information people that don’t.’

Other franchises like Real Housewives of Atlanta have opted for virtual reunions in light of the pandemic but as cities and states begin to open back up, RHONY may actually get an in-person taping.
