Dua Lipa goes high fashion in glamorous gowns for Saturday Night Live performances

Dua Lipa embraces high fashion as she graces the Saturday Night Live stage in eye-catching gowns (and a VERY big hat!) for musical performances

Dua Lipa put on a show-stopping performance in more ways than once when she made her appearance as a musical guest on Saturday Night Live.

The 25-year-old British beauty looked sensational as she graced the New York City stage of the hit comedy sketch show in a selection of designer gowns on Saturday.

New Rules hitmaker Dua wowed as she donned a vintage, leopard-print top designed by Alaïa while performing her chart-topping hit Don’t Start Now.

With waist of the sleeveless number cinched at the waist with a broad matching belt, the star was able to show off her enviably svelte figure as she performed.

Accessorising with a chunky necklace, which featured a large glittering jewel stone as its centrepiece, the star wore her brunette locks in sleek retro waves.

When she returned later returned to the stage, the London native dazzled in a white Valentino ensemble that included a plunging gown with a high slit and long train.

And if her gown of choice wasn’t eye-catching enough, Dua accessorised with the real show-stopper – an oversized feather-covered hat with an extra wide brim.

Dua also made a sketch appearance during the episode, which was hosted by former SNL regular Kristen Wiig and was the last of the year.

The beauty has been making the most of her time in NYC and has been spotted on several strolls as well as posing in front of the Rockefeller Christmas Tree.

December has been a busy month for the star, with her performing at a warehouse in the UK for her Studio 2054 virtual gig.

She was joined by a number of guest performers during the event including Kylie Minogue, Elton John, FKA twigs, Bad Bunny and Miley Cyrus. The show broke online records, with five million views.

Dua also put on show-stopping performance as she sang a stripped-down rendition of track, Boys Will Be Boys, at the virtual Billboard Women in Music event last week.

As she opened the 2020 show last Thursday, the singer impressed viewers with her vocals as she was accompanied by a string quartet.

Standing on a nearly empty stage, she swayed around with a microphone and belted out a powerful chorus, which tackled sexual harassment and women’s experiences with toxic male behaviour.

‘Boys will be, boys will be boys/ but girls will be women,’ she crooned as the silhouettes of her orchestra occasionally flashed on the screen.

The British star, whose album Future Nostalgia is nominated for the 2021 Grammy Awards’ coveted Album Of The Year prize, later took home the Powerhouse Award.
