Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s wife Lauren Hashian releases disco-inspired new song

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson isn’t the only talented member of his family.

His wife Lauren Hashian, 36, released her new disco-inspired song Ride the Wave on Friday, along with co-singers Naz Tokio and Natalie Martinez.

The group put out a subsequent music video, with The Rock and Hashian’s eldest daughter Jasmine, four, making an adorable surprise appearance.

The upbeat, funky tune sets out to capture the ‘essence of the Studio 54 era in New York City’ with ‘vibrant dancefloor melodies’, according to a press release.

The Rock was clearly proud of his wife, whom he married last year, sharing news of the song on his Instagram, writing: ‘You ladies killed this track and way to release some much needed positive vibes out for the world to enjoy’.

Hashian, who has been making music for 15 years, wrote the catchy song with Grammy- nominated singer Tokio and double-threat actress and singer Martinez, as well as producer Eric Zayne.

The mother-of-two gushed about the new track: ‘I’m thrilled to bring this song and video to life with my closest friends and collaborators.

‘It was a true group effort and vision from start to finish. It has been an unforgettable experience certainly made tricky by the times.

‘But we wanted to create a track of pure, upbeat positivity reminding us that even when things are tough, we need moments for our mental health and balance to focus on the good.

‘We hope people can get lost in the vibe in the best way, and remember the moments that mean the most with the people that matter the most to us.

Martinez added that the song is about ‘letting yourself enjoy life’ while Tokio said she hopes the tune encourages women to soak up good moments with friends and loved ones.
