Ellie Goulding displays her taut abs and endless legs in tiny black crop-top and Lycra shorts

Ellie Goulding took to Instagram on Thursday to show off her athletic frame in an ab-bearing crop top and tiny Lycra shorts.

The singer was clearly excited about the coming weeks – with her new album set for release this month – and appeared to be shooting something to promote it.

Whipping her blonde locks across her face, Ellie, 33, stood tall in the sporty ensemble, which she teamed with a clunky par of black boots.

The dark top and shorts combo showed off her taut stomach and leggy pins, accentuated further with a golden spray tan.

Her honeyed tresses fell in waves around her features which she hid from view for one snap, before taking a mirror selfie for another looking flawless.

She captioned the snap: ‘These boots and fake tan are made for album release month!’

She also took to Instagram Stories to showcase another interesting ensemble – a bra constructed out of satin evening gloves.

The busty green and black number emulated something Madonna might’ve worn in the old days, with Ellie doing a fine job of modelling it herself.

In one snap she was seen having it adjusted by a wardrobe assistant as Ellie stood in a pair of lacy knickers.

This was before she added a black satin skirt to the look.

Ellie’s new album comes out on 17 July and is her fourth.

The record is called Brightest Blue and is her first studio album for five years, having released Delirium in 2015.

This followed 2012’s Halcyon and 2010’s debut Lights.

In May, Ellie shared the artwork and tracklisting for Brightest Blue which she revealed is split into two – classically-influenced music and pop.

She said of the record: ‘The first side is something written entirely by me which was fun and I wrote most of it in New York when I was living there a few years back.

‘I play the guitar and I play the bass and piano and then I’m singing a lot of vocals. It’s very classically influenced because I love classical music.

‘There’s a lot going on, it’s a big soundscape and one big film. The second half is my kind of alter ego songs.’

She revealed that ‘Side One’ will be called Brightest Blue while ‘Side Two’ is titled EG.0.

The second side mostly features collaborations with likes of Blackbear, Juice Wrld, Lauv and Dipli.
