Elon Musk has listed five more California properties for a combined $97.5million nearly two weeks after he put two Bel Air homes on the market for $39.5million following a Twitter rant where he vowed to sell off his material possessions.
In a series of tweets on May 1, the Tesla founder, who according to Forbes is worth more than $38billion, announced that he intends to sell ‘almost all physical possessions’.
‘Will own no house,’ Musk wrote. Just days later on May 4, it was revealed that the billionaire had listed two Bel Air properties on Zillow.
On Wednesday, Musk listed five more homes for sale. Four of the Los Angeles homes were listed on Zillow as a multi-property listing with an asking price of $62.5million.
The homes are described on Zillow as being ‘a project for the big thinker, designed to showcase one of the best views in Los Angeles – from the city to the ocean and beyond’.

On Wednesday, Musk listed five more homes for sale. Four of the Los Angeles homes were listed on Zillow as a multi-property listing with an asking price of $62.5million. This home sits on Somera Road in Los Angeles
The homes are described on Zillow as being ‘a project for the big thinker, designed to showcase one of the best views in Los Angeles – from the city to the ocean and beyond’. This home is also located on Somera Road in Los Angeles
Zillow also noted that ‘due to listing limitations, additional specs on each individual home, as well as insight on the project as a whole, will be made available upon request by qualified buyers’. This home was purchased by Musk last year. Musk paid $6.4million for this residence which is located on Somera Road

The fifth home, which is located in Hillsborough, California, has been listed for $35million. Musk purchased the Hillsborough home in June 2017 for $23.3million. The 16,000sqft mansion sits on 47.4 acres of land and features 10 bedrooms and 10 baths
Zillow also noted that ‘due to listing limitations, additional specs on each individual home, as well as insight on the project as a whole, will be made available upon request by qualified buyers’.
The fifth home, which is located in Hillsborough, California, has been listed for $35million.
Musk purchased the Hillsborough home in June 2017 for $23.3million. The 16,000sqft mansion sits on 47.4 acres of land and features 10 bedrooms and 10 baths.
The mansion has a pool, ballroom, banquet dining room and an 8-car carport.
On May 4, Musk listed his lower Bel Air estate that overlooks the Bel Air Country Club.
The residence, which was purchased by Musk in 2012 for $17million, was listed for $30million on Zillow.
The 16,251sqft mansion features six bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, a two-story library, swimming pool, and a tennis court.
It also features a gym, pool, a wine cellar, fruit orchard and a five-car garage.
The second home was listed for $9.5million and used to be owned by late Willy Wonka actor, Gene Wilder, who died in 2016.
It features five bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, an oval pool and a private guest cottage.
In November 2013, Musk purchased the three-quarter-acre Bel Air home for $6.75million. Musk has since turned the property into a private school.
During his May 1 Twitter rant, Musk said he would sell the home with certain conditions.
‘Just one stipulation on sale: I own Gene Wilder’s old house. It cannot be torn down or lose any its soul,’ Musk said.

The home is one of six that Musk bought within walking distance of each other. Musk also purchased a seventh home near Tesla headquarters in Northern California.
In total, he has spent more than $100million for seven properties since 2012, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Musk bought two homes in in 2015: a modest ranch house for $4.3million and $20million mansion.
A year later, Musk purchased a large, unfinished home for $24.25million. All three homes sit on the cul-de-sac of five homes.
Musk assured his followers that the selling of his possessions was not financially motivated.
‘Don’t need the cash. Devoting myself to Mars and Earth. Possession just weigh you down,’ Musk tweeted.
Aside from listing his properties, Musk has frequently complained about the lockdown restrictions in California.
The billionaire reopened his Fremont, California, plant last Monday in defiance of county orders. It’s unclear if Tesla and Mush would face any punishment for reopening.
But in a statement, the Alameda County Public Health Department announced late Tuesday that the Fremont plant will be able to go beyond basic operations this week and start making vehicles on Monday – as long as it delivers on worker safety precautions that it agreed to.
The release said Fremont police would verify whether Tesla was holding up its part of the agreement.
The deal requires that public health indicators have to remain stable or improve for the factory to stay open.
‘We will be working with the Fremont PD to verify Tesla is adhering to physical distancing and that agreed upon health and safety measures are in place for the safety of their workers as they prepare for full production,’ the release said.
Tesla’s factory reopened Monday for pre-production with Musk practically daring local authorities to arrest him, and operations apparently continued into Tuesday.
The company met a Monday deadline to submit a site-specific plan to protect worker safety.
But the reopening defied orders from the health department, which has deemed the factory a nonessential business that can’t fully open under restrictions intended to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus.
The health department has said it warned the company was operating in violation of the county health order, and hoped Tesla will ‘comply without further enforcement measures’ until the county approves a site-specific plan required by the state.

Gov Gavin Newsom framed the issue Wednesday as a local dispute, noting that the state guidelines have allowed some manufacturing ‘for weeks’ when counties permit resumption.
He said he’s urged local governments to follow the state’s approach in dealing with rogue operators by seeking ‘not to be punitive at first’.

‘It sounds like, based upon the progress that’s been made public, with the county and Tesla, that they were able to resolve their issue in fairly short order along those same lines,’ he said.
State law allows a fine of up to $1,000 a day or up to 90 days in jail for operating in violation of health orders.
The plant in Fremont, a city of more than 230,000 people south of San Francisco, was closed March 23. It employs about 10,000 workers.
Public health experts have credited stay-at-home orders with slowing the spread of the coronavirus, and helping hospitals handle an influx of cases.
The coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms for most people. But it has killed more than 84,000 people in the US, with the death toll rising.
Alameda County was among six San Francisco Bay Area counties that were the first in the nation to impose stay-at-home orders in mid-March.
Newsom has repeatedly said that counties can impose restrictions that are more stringent than state orders.
The order in the Bay Area has been extended until the end of the month, but the counties plan to allow some limited business and manufacturing starting May 18, the same day Detroit automakers plan to reopen auto assembly plants.
Some auto parts plants were to restart production this week.
The Detroit automakers’ 150,000 US workers are represented by the United Auto Workers union, which has negotiated for added safety precautions. Tesla´s workers do not have a union.

Musk, whose company has sued Alameda County seeking to overturn its order, threatened to move Tesla’s manufacturing operations and headquarters from the state.
Tesla contends in the lawsuit that Alameda County can’t be more restrictive than orders from Newsom.
The lawsuit says the governor’s coronavirus restrictions refer to federal guidelines classifying vehicle manufacturing as essential businesses that are allowed to continue operating.
Tesla released a plan to maintain worker safety, including wearing gloves and masks, installing barriers between workers and maintaining social distancing.
Local officials said the company initially pushed back on checking employee temperatures before boarding a company bus to get to work. But Tesla relented and agreed to check workers.
