Emelia Jackson gives advice to the young contestants of Junior MasterChef

She’d know! Emelia Jackson gives advice to the young contestants of Junior MasterChef – after winning the new season and pocketing $250,000

She won MasterChef Australia: Back to Win on Monday night.

And now victor Emelia Jackson has given some advice to the young contestants of Junior MasterChef Australia. 

The 30-year-old told The Huffington Post that the young chefs should try to stay calm in challenges and to think about what they’re doing.

‘If I had any advice for them I think it would just be to stay really present in the moment, don’t get too ahead of yourself and just really think about everything you’re doing and why you’re doing it,’ Emelia said. 

Emelia said she ‘can’t wait’ to watch the show and spoke about how she had a love of cooking when she was little. 

‘I remember the very first things I learnt to cook were Chinese-style stir fries, then I got really into Indian curries,’ she said.

‘And then I discovered baking and then I stayed with the baking path for a long time.’

It was announced this week that MasterChef judges Melissa Leong, Andy Allen and Jock Zonfrillo are the judges on Junior MasterChef, which is set to hit screens ‘soon’.

Melissa said she was excited to be a judge on the show, and that it ‘will be spectacular to see what the next generation has in store’.

‘We are so thrilled to be bringing Junior MasterChef Australia to life very soon,’ she added.

‘To be showcasing a generation of kids who have grown up with the show and who have literally been cooking for most of their lives, you know this is going to be spectacular.’ 

She finished: ‘Jock, Andy and I are very excited to meet our incredible little cooks.’

The spin-off will feature children aged from nine to 14.

In a trailer for the upcoming series, the judges can’t believe their eyes as they see some of the incredible creations the children have made, including a lobster dish, homemade pasta and an intricate dessert.

‘This looks like something you get in a three-hatted restaurant,’ Jock says.

MasterChef: Back to Win finished on Monday night as Emelia Jackson was crowned winner and took home a whopping $250,000.

Laura Sharrad came runner-up and pocketed $30,000.
