Emmerdale’s Lydia Hart drinks from a welly boot as she celebrates tying the knot with Sam Dingle

Emmerdale’s Lydia Hart appeared to be on cloud nine as she celebrates her wedding to Sam Dingle by drinking from a welly boot at the nuptials.

The couple (played by Karen Blick and James Hooton) looked overwhelmed with happiness as they smiled lovingly at each other at the alter.

Karen was walked down the aisle by her father-in-law Zak (Steve Halliwell) before the family celebrated in the pub.

The character looked radiant on her special day, donning a white sleeveless dress which she wore with a matching jacket and hat.

After they said ‘I do’ the lovebirds took several photos with their nearest and dearest outside the venue. 

Fans of Emmerdale have been warned not to visit the village made famous by the soap amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

According to The Mirror, residents in Esholt, West Yorkshire said: ‘Since lockdown, we’ve had more people than ever turning up’.

It comes after ITV announced in March that production on Emmerdale and Coronation Street would stop amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

A statement from the broadcaster said its staff had been working hard to ensure filming continued ‘whilst adhering to the Government’s latest health guidelines’.

It said enough episodes have been recorded to see both soaps through until the early summer.

The statement said: ‘ITV has sadly taken the decision to suspend production of the soaps Coronation Street and Emmerdale with effect from Monday March 23.

‘We’ve been doing our best to carry on filming, whilst adhering to the Government’s latest health guidelines, to ensure we’ve episodes of both soaps airing on ITV until at least the early summer.

‘However, the health and well-being of the production teams, actors, crew and their families is of paramount importance to us and we now feel that the time has come to stop filming.

‘We’d like to thank our viewers for their support and hope they continue to enjoy both soaps in the coming months.’
