Entrepreneur Tammy Hembrow reveals what her life is really like

On first glance of her Instagram account, some might assume Tammy Hembrow is just an Instagram model.

However, there is certainly more than meets the eye, with the 25-year-old balancing several businesses, along with motherhood and her own personal brand.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia for the launch of the Boohoo x Hembrows collection, the Gold Coast-based star said that as an entrepreneur, she is ‘always busy’.

When asked whether she prefers to be known as an entrepreneur, Tammy responded: ‘I would say entrepreneur for sure. I have my businesses, and as well as that, I have my personal brand which is my Instagram and YouTube.

‘There’s always a lot of things going on, but I would definitely say [I’m] an entrepreneur.’

Tammy explained that not every day is the same, balancing her life in the spotlight with raising son Wolf, four, and daughter Saskia, three.

‘For me, every single day is different. I’ll either have a photo shoot or meetings, or I’ll just have a day off with my kids. I’m always super busy, but I’ll fit in the gym somewhere usually. I just work around whatever I have going on,’ she said.

With an Instagram following of 11.1million, the founder of Tammy Fit and Saski Collection, admitted that there can be pressure in being a role model to fans.

‘It can be a lot of pressure sometimes because there are a lot of people looking up to you, but we [her and her sisters] just stay true to ourselves, and as authentic as possible,’ she said.

And as for her famously toned figure, Tammy revealed that she aims to fit in the gym three to five times a week.

‘As long as I go at least three times a week, then I’m good. If I don’t have time to go at least three times, then it just stresses me out,’ she said.

‘I work out to keep my sanity, but between three and five workouts is usually what I do.’

Tammy follows a routine of HIIT (high-intensity interval training), weights, resistance training involving booty bands, ab circuits and boxing.

She revealed that the most common question she’s asked about workouts is the amount of weight to use.

‘I think the answer is really simple,’ she said. ‘It’s just whatever is to your strength, which should be difficult for you to complete. It’s going to be different for everyone.’

‘People will get what other people are using and think they should be using that, but just work with whatever works for your strength.’

Tammy got fans’ attention when she announced on Instagram that she was going vegan for 2020.

But like others who make the switch, she admitted that it’s been quite challenging.

‘I was trying [vegan]. I lasted a little while but now fish is back in my diet,’ she said.

‘I don’t really eat chicken or meat, it’s mainly fish and vegetables. Hopefully I can go fully plant-based.’
