After the coronavirus pandemic subsides, Eva will be sitting in the director’s chair on the set of Flamin’ Hot, a biopic of Cheetos inventor Richard Montanez.
The prestige project found its stars in actors Jesse Garcia and Annie Gonzalez on Tuesday, Variety reported.
The film will follow Montanez, a janitor at Frito Lay who took inspiration from his Mexican American heritage to create the wildly popular snack Flamin’ Hot Cheetos.
Garcia will play Montanez and Gonzalez will portray his wife Judy, while Longoria will remain focused behind the camera for her feature directorial debut.
She previously said about the project that is it ‘my biggest priority to make sure we are telling Richard Montanez’s story authentically. I am so happy to have two extremely talented and fellow Mexican Americans on board in these pivotal roles. Jesse and Annie have a deep understanding of our community and will be able to help tell this story of great importance for our culture.’
The movie is set to film over the summer in New Mexico, while a release date has yet to be determined.
