EXCL: Caprice may soon be reunited with £50K worth of jewellery taken from Ibiza home

Caprice is hoping to soon be reunited with £50,000 worth of jewellery stolen from her Ibiza home during a burglary last year, a source has claimed.

The model, 49, was staying at her Spanish villa with friends and family last August when her guests’ gems were taken during a daylight raid.

However a source speaking exclusively to MailOnline has now said items matching the same descriptions have been located by police at a ‘gangs house’ along with ‘James Blunt’s family heirlooms’, which were stolen from his Ibiza home in January.

The source said: ‘Caprice just received a tip off that £50,000 of her guest’s jewellery that was stolen from her Ibiza house last summer may have been finally located.

‘Caprice has been informed that jewellery fitting the description of her guest’s belongings might be located at the gang’s house.

‘Police found over £250,000 worth of valuables which includes James Blunt’s family heirlooms also stolen last month. She is now waiting for Spanish police from her jurisdiction to see if they can identify and retrieve the stolen items.’

The source continued that Caprice is currently waiting to hear more from police in Ibiza but is happy things are moving along.

They told MailOnline: ‘It is now a waiting game but she is finally relieved to have some positive news and two men the Spanish authorities suspect of the string of robberies have been arrested.’

‘Caprice never keeps valuables at her Ibiza house and feels really bad for her friends who were staying with her family on holiday when the robbery took place.

‘Initially it was suspected to be an inside job but may likely be a gang on the island that have been robbing villas for sometime now’.

MailOnline has contacted The Civil Guard for a comment.

Singer James Blunt’s ‘family heirlooms’ were found after police arrested thieves suspected of ransacking his Ibiza villa last week.

The You’re Beautiful singer revealed last month there had been a break-in at his £2m property on January 14, with the burglars taking a bayonet from his time serving in the Kosovo war and a watch which had been his grandfathers.

Police confirmed the development in a statement, adding that several other items such as two sculptures, several paintings and silver cutlery, had also been found.

The Civil Guard said: ‘The objects recovered are in our safe keeping while we wait for their legitimate owners, who include a well-known British singer, to come and claim them.

‘We have arrested two Romanian men suspected of belonging to a criminal organisation that specialised in breaking into homes.

‘The operation, codenamed Operation Second, began after a series of burglaries at luxury homes in secluded areas of Ibiza.

‘The gang watched the properties they chose to target so they could obtain the information they needed to carry out their burglaries successfully, making sure there were no security guards on duty and disabling alarm systems.

‘The men held were arrested in Santa Gertrudis in Ibiza despite trying to flee police in a hire car.

‘A dozen break-ins have now been solved and more than £250,000 in valuables recovered, including two sculptures, several paintings by well-known artists, hundreds of bottles of wine, cognac, champagne, 19th century watches, gold and silver cutlery, jewellery, tools and a bayonet.

‘The investigation remains open while we continue to try to arrest other members of the gang, which was the target of previous police operations, who have already been identified.’

Caprice has owned a property on the Spanish island for years, often spending her summers with friends and family at the house.

It is thought that Caprice and her guests were not at the villa last August at the time of the burglary.

However the TV star was said to have been left ‘shaken up’ during the trip, where she has holidayed with WAG Rebekah Vardy and her family, after the traumatic robbery.

‘Caprice and family are a little shaken up after her Ibiza house was robbed in broad daylight,’ an insider told MailOnline at the time.

‘She has been coming to Ibiza with friends and family for the past 20 years and has never had any problems. It was her guests who were robbed and tens of thousands of pounds worth of jewellery was taken.’

Caprice was pictured at the island’s courthouse after the robbery as she arrived to file a police report, with the source saying she felt ‘awful and a bit frightened’.

‘She went straight to the courthouse to file a police report. A lot was stolen,’ the insider added. ‘You just don’t expect it in broad daylight!’
