Fears for radio host Kyle Sandilands after he fails to show up for work and doesn’t answer his phone – as worried Jackie ‘O’ Henderson sends a producer to his home for a welfare check

Radio presenter Kyle Sandilands sparked fears for his welfare on Wednesday when he didn’t show up for his usual breakfast shift at Sydney’s top-rating breakfast program, The Kyle and Jackie O Show.

The KIIS FM star, 49, who has a history of health problems, offered no explanation for his absence and colleagues couldn’t contact him because his phone was turned off – something Sandilands rarely does.

His longtime co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson and newsreader Brooklyn Ross sounded genuinely worried about him when they opened the show at 6am.

They explained he hadn’t called ahead to say he wouldn’t be at work and his phone was dead. Sandilands’ friend and manager, Bruno Bouchet, also wasn’t picking up.

Henderson and Ross sent a KIIS FM producer, John Nicholson, to Sandilands’ house in Sydney’s eastern suburbs to see if he was okay.

More to come.
