An aspiring model who sparked a police search when she went missing over the bank holiday weekend has been found safe and well, police say. 

Laura Benson, 24, vanished from Beeston, Nottinghamshire on Sunday wearing a lilac fur jacket and black boots, prompting concerns for her welfare.

But Nottinghamshire Police said this evening the professional DJ has been found ‘safe and well’ as they thanked those who shared their appeal.  

‘Officers have located Laura Benson safe and well,’ a statement said. ‘Thanks to all those who shared our appeal.’

At the time of her disappearance on Sunday, Ms Benson was wearing a lilac fur jacket, short black skirt and black boots. 

The aspiring model is described as slim, 5ft 5ins tall with long blonde hair with a blue wash dye

A Nottinghamshire Police spokesperson said at the time: ‘Officers are concerned for her safety after she was reported missing on Sunday.

‘If anyone has seen Laura or knows where she might be please call us on 101.’ 

Earlier today, a message on the Nottinghamshire Police Twitter page urged the public to contact the forces with any information they had. 

The woman, who last shared a picture of herself on Instagram on May 23, describes herself as ‘starting out’ in modelling and an ‘expert’ DJ on her talent scout website Starnow profile page.

She also describes herself as a budding ‘actress’ on the Choice Model Management website.
