Felicity Huffman goes for a walk in LA neighborhood as new book and Netflix special rehash her college admissions scandal
Felicity Huffman looks to keep moving forward.
The Desperate Housewives star, 58, was snapped Sunday walking with a friend in Studio City, California donning a casual wear ensemble, as she looks to her show business future while her past remains a popular topic.
The Emmy-winning actress wore a red quarter-zip sweater, black leggings and a straw hat with baby blue trainers and a face mask on the outing.

Huffman, who is mother to daughters Sofia, 20, and Georgia, 19, with husband William H. Macy, 70, was out as public interest continues in the 2019 college admissions scandal she was convicted in along with actress Lori Loughlin and fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli.
Huffman admitted to paying admissions official William Singer $15,000, via his nonprofit Key Worldwide Foundation, for a proctor to correct wrong answers on her daughter Sofia’s SATs. Authorities said the nonprofit was set up as a front to accept bribes.
Following her sentencing, Huffman admitted wrongdoing and remorse for her actions in the course of events.
‘I broke the law,’ she said. ‘I have admitted that and I pleaded guilty to this crime. There are no excuses or justifications for my actions … I was stupid, and I was so wrong.’

The Oscar-nominated star, spent 11 days in federal prison in October of 2019, is a focal point in both the new book from author Nicole LaPorte, Guilty Admissions: The Bribes, Favors, and Phonies Behind the College Cheating Scandal; and a Netflix docudrama titled Operation Varsity Blues: The College Admissions Scandal after the federal investigation that led to the arrests of the Hollywood stars.
LaPorte, speaking with The Hollywood Reporter Saturday, said she believed that ‘it was such a study in contrasts’ in how Huffman and Loughlin presented themselves to the public throughout the case.
‘Felicity, from the very first glimpse of her walking into the courthouse, she looked genuinely distraught and humiliated,’ LaPorte said. ‘She wasn’t wearing makeup and she didn’t make eye contact with the cameras. She seemed authentically remorseful.’
LaPorte noted that when Loughlin showed up, ‘her hair and makeup was done, she looked at the cameras’ and ‘treated it like a PR appearance.
‘Those narratives continued because Felicity immediately pled guilty and, in the end, she only served 11 days,’ LaPorte said. ‘Meanwhile, Lori and Mossimo Giannulli fought the charges and denied them for several months before they finally pled guilty. There was no way for them to avoid the spotlight, but the way each narrative played itself out contributed to these stories.’
Huffman’s career appears to be on the upswing, as she’s been cast in an ABC comedy about a minor league baseball team, Deadline reported last fall.
