Frazer Neate’s mum Lorraine GRILLS Elly Miles on The Bachelorette

‘Are you really here looking for love?’ Frazer Neate’s mum Lorraine GRILLS Elly Miles and asks if she’s just looking for ‘more opportunities on TV’ after appearing on both The Bachelor and The Bachelorette

Elly Miles had an awkward encounter with Frazer Neate’s mum, Lorraine on Wednesday’s episode of The Bachelorette.

The 25-year-old met Frazer’s family over a Zoom chat, and Lorraine didn’t hesitate to admit she was wary of the Bachelorette star.

‘I was concerned that you’d previously been on a reality show, The Bachelor,’ she began.

‘So, do you see these programs as a pathway to more opportunities on TV or are you really here looking for love?’

Before sitting down to talk with Elly, Lorraine admitted she was ‘quite judgemental’ and keen to protect her 28-year-old son.

‘I am actually quite judgemental, and I’m just wondering anxiously how this is actually going to pan out,’ she confessed.

Lorraine told Elly that she thought her decision to look for lasting love on a reality TV show was ‘very unusual’.

‘Frazer would have said that his dad and I have been married a long time,’ she continued.

‘I’m really old-school and we dated in the old-fashioned way. I just think it’s really weird for you to be going on dates with, like, multiple blokes.’

Elly confessed that she was ‘freaking out’ talking to Frazer’s mum, and was nervous about making a ‘good impression’.

But Elly did her best to assure Lorraine she was The Bachelorette for the right reasons.

‘Honestly, I’m from a country town and from a very traditional family as well,’ she began.

‘I never in a million years thought I’d come on TV and meet someone that way, let alone date multiple people at once.

‘That’s not something that I’ve ever been accustomed to, so it’s definitely something that I’m struggling with.’

She added: ‘I don’t care about money, I don’t care about fame. I am here to find love and I am coming into this with my heart on the line.’

Lorraine then asked Elly how she envisioned a long-term relationship working, given that she lived in New South Wales, while Frazer’s from Queensland.

‘I don’t particularly want Frazer to move from Brisbane. From my point of view, I would really miss Frazer if he was to move,’ she said.

‘I want my family here where I can see them and be part of their lives all the time. He’s a grown man, but he’s still my boy.’

Elly later said: ‘It’s become very clear that Frazer’s whole life is in Brisbane, and I’m getting a sense that it’s kind of non-negotiable that I would have to move there.’

She confessed she’d find it ‘really hard’ to move away from her family, and said it was something she’d need to think about.

‘That’s something I’m going to need a little bit more time to figure out,’ she admitted.

More to come.
