Garcelle Beauvais had to be ‘isolated’ on her 54th birthday after production halted on RHOBH

She’s part of one of the most successful reality franchises on television, and when it comes to everyone’s health, they’re taking no chances.

Garcelle Beauvais shared more detailed about her Bravo series The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills halting production of season 11 recently, after some crew members tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

The actress and model, who turned 54 years old on Thanksgiving Day, opened up on Tuesday’s episode of The Real, which she co-hosts with Loni Love, Jeannie Mai and Adrienne Bailon.

‘I am so happy to see you guys today, I have been on my own and I’ll tell you why,’ Beauvais began in the episode.

‘We shot for Housewives on Tuesday – Tuesday night we got home and found out a few people on our crew tested positive for COVID.

‘So I’ve been isolated,’ Garcelle, whose birthday fell on Thanksgiving Day this year, continued.

‘We’ve done the right thing, we get tested so many times. We do all the protocols. We get tested at least three times a week, we get tested before we shoot, my kids get tested, I get tested — anybody who’s in my household.

‘And you know, we did the right things,’ the reality star added. ‘But at the same time, it just shows you that [with] this virus – you can touch something. You know, it’s not necessarily just from people.’

Beauvais specified that she’s in the process of completing a 14-day quarantine period, as is everyone else involved with RHOBH, before production can resume on the Bravo series.

She also said that she has experienced absolutely no symptoms of the virus and has so far tested negative.

And while it was indeed a letdown to have to spend her special day in lockdown, Garcelle said she has ‘to look at the big picture’.

‘I’m healthy and they’re healthy,’ she said of her family, which includes 13-year-old twin sons Jax and Jaid with ex-husband Mike Nilon, and son Oliver Saunders, 29, with her other ex Daniel Saunders.

‘They came over with food, they brought over a candle,’ Beauvais said. ‘They left it outside the house and waved from the car. It’s the new normal.’
