Giancarlo Esposito plays dictator in Far Cry 6 trailer after bad guy roles in Breaking Bad and The Mandalorian
Giancarlo Esposito starred as dictator El Presidente in a new trailer released Sunday for the upcoming video game Far Cry 6.
The 62-year-old Danish-born actor will portray the villain President Antón Castillo in the Ubisoft game after recently playing the bad guy in Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul and The Mandalorian.
The trailer opened with El Presidente approaching his teenage son Diego, voiced by Anthony Gonzalez, 15, who voiced the lead character Miguel in the 2017 Pixar film Coco.

El Presidente showed his son the four parts of a hand grenade and then pulled the pin as the boy held it. The island dictator then took the boy up to a rooftop where violent protesters were assembled below and gave him the choice of dropping the grenade on them or blowing himself up.
‘[Antón], although being born with a silver spoon in his mouth, was unable to rule until the revolutionaries that ousted his father were put away,’ Esposito explained to Variety in an article Sunday. ‘We meet him at a time where he’s trying to empower his son to take up his mantle and really embrace ideas that would allow him to see that soon he will probably be the next leader in this country’.
Esposito played major methamphetamine dealer Gus Fring on Breaking Bad from 2009 to 2011.
He has reprised the role for the spin-off prequel Better Call Saul that premiered in February 2015 with his drug kingpin Fring character first appearing in season three in 2017.

Better Call Saul was renewed in January by AMC for a sixth and final season.
Esposito also plays villainous Moff Gideon on the Disney+ series The Mandalorian.
His character is attempting to capture the adorable and powerful alien creature called The Child on the series and Baby Yoda by viewers of the show.

Season two of The Mandalorian is scheduled for release in October on the Disney+ streaming service.
