The sudden and unexplained death of a little girl has rocked a small country town in Queensland.

Paramedics rushed the girl to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital but tragically she died.

The death rocked the tiny rural town with a population of just 5,676, in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.

Initial reports said a crime scene had been established but Queensland Police told Daily Mail Australia on Sunday that the death had been investigated but is not deemed to be suspicious.

Police would not reveal any further details on Sunday night other than to say the death is ‘not suspicious’.

Both paramedics from the Queensland Ambulance Service and the critical care unit attended the scene, the Courier Mail reported.

Queensland Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
