Gordon Ramsay has hit out at critics who blasted his £19 fry-up and insisted those who are raising hell about the dish are only doing so because they ‘can’t afford it’.
The Michelin starred chef, 54, unveiled his British breakfast at at his central London restaurant the Savoy Grill on social media in September.
However, the celebrity chef’s post was greeted with a flood of negative commentary on Twitter – with many taking umbrage with the portion size, missing breakfast components and the £19 price tag.

Despite the furore, Gordon has stood by the traditional full English breakfast at his fine dining establishment and insisted he would have it as his ‘last supper’.
The foul-mouthed star told Insider: ‘I stand by it. I swear by it. And it is one meal that I would ever eat as a last supper.
‘It has to be a full English breakfast with extra baked beans.’
Hitting out at the naysayers, he added: ‘And you know what? If you’re worried about the price, you can’t f***ing afford it.’

The Kitchen Nightmares star’s beloved breakfast staple includes two fried eggs, one sausage, a mushroom, one grilled tomato, several rashers of bacon, and a pot of baked beans.
In September, Gordon branded a fan an ‘idiot sandwich’ after he came under fire for sharing a picture of his lacklustre £19 Full English breakfast.
The Scotland-born chef shared a picture to Twitter at the time of his new breakfast dish which will be served as part of his menu at his central London restaurant.
‘The most amazing Full English…. can’t wait for you to try it from 21st September at Savoy Grill!’ he wrote, with an accompanying picture of the cooked dish.

But as soon as it was shared online, many questioned the size of the ‘quintessentially British’ dish, given it’s £19 price tag.

The dish consisted of six slices of toast, two eggs, two black puddings, three sausages, baked beans, a hash brown, bacon, mushroom and tomaotes.
Not taking criticism for an amateur cook, Gordon quipped back ‘That’s called a Full English Classic Heart Attack you idiot sandwich’.

The phrase is a reference to a sketch Gordon acted in on the Late Late show with James Corden in 2016.
In the sketch – dubbed Hell’s Cafeteria, a parody of his own show Hell’s Kitchen – Gordon holds two pieces of bread either side of TV host’s Julie Chen head and calls her an ‘idiot sandwich’.
The photo has since become viral meme, and Gordon has revealed he’s often asked by fans to re-enact the scene.
