‘We took a chance and it paid off’: Guy and Jules Sebastian reveal the VERY expensive interior design risk they took inside their $3.1million mansion
Guy and Jules Sebastian are known for their bold architectural style.
And it’s not just the exterior of their $3.1million mansion in Sydney’s Maroubra – which some neighbours have described as a ‘fortress’ – that they took a risk on.
In a recent Instagram post, fashion stylist Jules, 38, revealed the unexpected gamble they made when it came to decorating their dining area.

After struggling to find the perfect artwork for the space, the couple came up with a nifty solution to bring some colour into the ‘neutral’ part of their home.
They did this by hanging a luxury $5,300 rug from Moooi Carpets on the wall.
The Eden Queen Square rug was designed by Marcel Wanders and made in the Netherlands. It features an artistic display of vivid flowers, surrounded by black.

After sharing a picture of the rug on the wall to Instagram, Jules said: ‘Would you believe me if I told you it was a rug we have hung on the wall!
‘With a super neutral house we wanted something that popped! This was far too pretty for anyone to walk on! We took a chance and it paid off.’
Many of her followers were stunned by the revelation, calling it a ‘game changer’.

The nine-metre high staircase is made of steel and encased in white render, and serves as the focal point of the main foyer entrance.
