Hickerson has also been sentenced to four years of formal probation, a five-year protective order, 52 domestic violence classes, and $500 in restitution.

The sentencing stems from a 2019 incident in which Hickerson was arrested for domestic violence after getting into an argument with Panettiere.

Hickerson was arrested in Wyoming in February 2020 after the actress claimed he struck her in the face. Hickerson struck Panettiere ‘with a closed fist on the right side of her face’ in the incident, according to a police report.

He subsequently pleaded not guilty.

Hickerson was also charged in an eight count complaint in July 2020, which included charges for assault, domestic violence, and other felony offenses, law enforcement sources told TMZ.

Panettiere was granted a restraining order against her ex at the time, and released a statement about the alleged abuse she endured in the hopes of inspiring others in abusive relationships to seek help.
