Heather Morris posts video dancing to Naya Rivera song as she continues to mourn her Glee co-star

She continues to grieve for her Glee co-star Naya Rivera who perished in an accidental drowning in a California lake on July 8.

And on Monday, Heather Morris posted a video to her Instagram in which she’s seen dancing in her garden to a song by Rivera. 

In the caption, she wrote: ‘Grieving looks very differently on everyone…but one things for certain: I’ve felt it’s hard to feel joy or keep busy when mourning without thinking that you’re not honoring that person or you’re forgetting about them.’ 

‘But @hubbell_woodshop reminded me that honoring someone can mean you’re enjoying your life FOR them….’ she said. 

Morris went on: ‘I made it to 1M followers in these last few weeks and at first I was resentful because I gained them from a tragedy, but after giving it a breath.. 

‘I realized you all have just surrounded me with love and support. That I just see you angels wrapping your wings around me.’

It’s been a week since Rivera’s body was recovered from Lake Piru, north of Los Angeles, after a five-day search.

She had gone boating with her son Josey, four, who was found alone on a pontoon boat on the lake.

The actress, 33, had propelled her son onto the boat after they went for a swim but failed to get out of the water herself, law enforcement said.

An autopsy concluded her death was by drowning and that it had been an accident.

Morris and Rivera starred on Glee as love interests Brittany and Santana and became close friends in real life.

Following confirmation of her friend’s death, Morris posted photos of her two young sons Elijah and Owen playing with Rivera’s son Josey to Instagram and in the caption spoke about  the ‘beautiful friendship built out of love and understanding’ that she shared with her late co-star.

‘The last I had the chance to see you in person, I had left oranges outside our home for you to take. I wanted to say hi through the window but my phone didn’t ring when you called… so instead you and Josey left two succulents on our doorstep as a thank you,’ Morris wrote. 

‘I planted those succulents and I look at them everyday and think of you.’

She went on: ‘You are and always will be the strongest and most resilient human being I know, and I vowed to carry that with me as I continue to live my life.’

Morris described Rivera as ‘a consistent and loving friend’ and that she had ‘cherished’ that friendship and always will.

‘I have countless pictures of our babies playing, because we shared that kind of pride and joy. So I’m showing the world a photo of our little goof balls for you, because I know that meant more than anything and they remind me of you and I,’ she explained. 

‘I speak to you everyday because I know you’re still with me,’ she added.

Morris shares her sons aged six and four with her husband Taylor Hubbell whom she married in 2015.

Rivera was divorced from her four-year-old son’s father Ryan Dorsey.
