Heather Rae Young EXCLUSIVE: Selling Sunset star discusses relationship with Tarek El Moussa’s kids

Heather Rae Young has been on cloud nine since announcing her engagement to Tarek El Moussa last month.

And the Selling Sunset star, 32, has now gushed about finding her ‘soulmate’ in an exclusive chat with Daily Mail Australia, claiming that the pair are ‘committed to a life together’ and are enjoying the process of planning an ‘intimate’ wedding.

Admitting that her priorities have changed since meeting the Flip or Flop star, 38, the real estate expert has also spoken fondly about her responsibilities to his children, who have ‘taught her patience and to be less selfish’.

Heather and Tarek met on July 4, 2019, after mutual friends introduced them in Newport Beach, and they got engaged on July 25 this year.

Viewers first got a glimpse of how smitten Heather was with Tarek on the third season of Netflix’s Selling Sunset, which was filmed late last year.

Heather openly discussed the possibility of an engagement to the half-Moroccan reality star on the real estate-themed reality show.

And Heather has now admitted to Daily Mail Australia that she ‘binged-watched all of the season’ with Tarek, and told him: ‘Thank goodness you proposed before season three came out because I talk about it a lot!’

The former Playboy Playmate gushed: ‘Tarek is very loving and supportive. I knew I wanted to marry Tarek from the very beginning. He is my soulmate. I can’t wait to marry Tarek and become Mrs Heather Rae El Moussa!’

While fans of the series watched Heather enjoy her new romance, in stark contrast, her co-star Chrishell Stause went through a split from her husband, Justin Hartley.

The former Days of Our Lives actress claimed the This Is Us star told her he was filing for divorce via text, leaving her blindsided.

However, Heather has defiantly expressed that watching Chrishell’s devastation unravel on screen hasn’t affected her desire to tie the knot with Tarek.

‘Every relationship is different, and I don’t go into a marriage comparing mine to others. We have our own special journey ahead,’ she said.

The luxury real estate agent also said she couldn’t comment on Chrishell hinting that Justin’s fame had significantly contributed to the demise of their marriage as she ‘didn’t know him before his stardom.’

However, with Heather and Tarek both being public figures, the blonde admitted that they both ‘strongly communicate’ to keep their feet on the ground and stay humble.

‘We carve out hours every single night to talk. We have incredible communication and respect for each other.

‘I found my soulmate, and he completes me. I love knowing that we are committing to a life together and now being a fiancée, I feel this sense of security,’ she added.

Tarek is a dad to daughter Taylor, 9, and four-year-old son Brayden with ex-wife Christina Anstead – who he starred alongside on their HGTV show, Flip Or Flop.

And Heather has revealed she has happily transitioned into the doting role of their ‘future stepmom.’

‘Over anything, Tarek and the kids come first for me. It’s been a challenge to balance everything, but I am learning – it takes time, and that’s okay.’

Offering an example as to how her life has genuinely changed since looking after two youngsters, she said: ‘I never sit down anymore, even when I eat I stand because I am always getting up to grab things for Tarek and the kiddos.

‘I give all the mamas props because being a bonus mom and future stepmom is the hardest job I have ever had!’

As far as the physical comparisons go between Heather and Tarek’s ex-wife Christina, the beauty proclaims: ‘I guess all brown-eyed blonds are twins!’

The realtor went on to note that she doesn’t personally compare herself to Christina – and their similarities ‘doesn’t even cross her mind.’

With all of her fans desperate to know further details about her wedding, Heather expressed: ‘We want it [the wedding] to be intimate and have our family and closest friends.

‘I don’t want to be overwhelmed. This day is about Tarek and me, and celebrating with our loved ones.

‘As far as filming [the wedding], we are discussing it and our minds may change, but as of now, we are leaning towards no.

And while her co-star Mary Fitzgerald famously ruffled feathers with Davina Potratz for not inviting her to her wedding with Romain Bonnet – Heather said she wants everyone from The Oppenheim Group at her nuptials.

However, highlighting the constant drama plaguing the hit series, Heather envisioned that getting all members of the Selling Sunset gang together for her wedding may not be a possibility.

‘Knowing this group, there is a chance I will probably not be speaking to a few cast members by then!’ she cheekily added.

Season Four of Netflix’s Selling Sunset has yet to be announced.
