Holly Willoughby is ‘locked in a new row over plans to extend her £3million home’

Holly Willoughby and husband Dan Baldwin ‘spark new row over plans to extend their £3million house as neighbours working from home say it would be too noisy’

Holly Willoughby has reportedly sparked a planning row with her neighbours.

The presenter, 40, is thought to be hoping to add a first floor side and rear extension to her six-bedroom house in South West London, reports The Sun.

It is the latest in a line of improvements the star and her husband Dan Baldwin, 46, have hoped to make to their £3million family home.

Oh dear: Holly Willoughby has reportedly sparked a planning row with her neighbours

An application made to Richmond Council is thought to be in its initial stages of public consultation, with agents saying the changes would ‘help balance the two wings of the house’.

However the publication reports that one irate resident has opposed any changes to the property as the ‘noise and disruption’ from the project would be ‘enormous’.

Explaining that they now work from home because of the pandemic, the neighbour said: ‘My work space is right by the project and having the noise all day and all week for so many months is not the standard of living in such an expensive area to live.

‘I don’t pay taxes to get this level of disruption, it is not quality of life. I totally oppose and refuse the go ahead of the project.’

MailOnline has contacted Holly’s representatives for a comment.

Holly and Dan have faced set backs with their building plans and additions to their home in the past.

Last month, Holly put up an NHS flag after she and her TV producer beau reportedly angered neighbours back in 2017 by erecting a huge flagpole.

The couple were accused of ‘lowering the tone’ of the conservation area Surrey neighbourhood by flying a Union Jack flag.

Speaking to The Mirror, a neighbour said: ‘It’s in one of the most desirable streets, we’re either Conservatives or Liberal Democrats in this area traditionally, not BNP.

‘It’s not really becoming of the area. The house is one of the oldest in the neighbourhood, and has a prominent tower. It’s never had a Union Jack on it before.’

Holly was also said to have upset neighbours after their planning application for a two-storey building extension was rejected in 2016.

According to reports, their neighbours intervened, believing it would ‘compromise the character and appearance of the building’.

Additionally Dan is said to have sent around 50 emails assuring neighbours that he and Holly were watching TV on one occasion during the same year.

This came after a neighbour reportedly accused the couple of keeping them awake all night ‘with their partying’.

While in 2019 Holly and Dan were reported to be embarking on their ninth building project in seven years at their £3 million London home.

The presenter wanted to convert a garage at her property into a one bedroom flat to accommodate an au pair to look after her three children, MailOnline revealed.

She was also hoping to add a second story to an existing brick-built garage at the end of her garden in London, documents lodged with her local council revealed.

The development was the 13th planning application Holly and her husband had made since buying their four-storey family home for £2.8million in 2012.

Nine of their applications had been to carry out building work and alterations on the property while a further four have been to prune trees in their garden.

The couple’s biggest project was four years ago when they were given permission to excavate and build a basement for their six-bedroom home.
