Hollyoaks’ Richard Blackwood shared his heartache on Sunday as he confirmed his mother, Juliette, has died following her third battle with cancer. 

The actor, 48, posted a moving tribute on Instagram and revealed she passed away in his arms alongside his sister, niece and son. 

He uploaded a series of images including a snap with his arm wrapped around Juliette, and in another image, he nursed her from her bed as she battled illness.

As he reflected on the tragic loss, Richard penned: ‘I post and write this with a Heavy Heart this morning! 

‘I never put too much up over the last few weeks but my close friends and Family knew my mum was fighting her 3rd battle with Cancer! 

‘She passed away in my arms last night in front of my Sister, My Niece and my Son!!’ 

Richard- who is also the step-brother of supermodel Naomi Campbell- thanked everyone for showing their support.

He confirmed that acting and stand-up comedy helped him push forward amid the stress from his mother’s cancer battle.

Richard continued: ‘I’m not going to spend too many words on here cause I just don’t feel too but I want to Thank everyone that was supporting, That was reaching out, even those that just checked in on a how are you in this time!!! 

‘I want you to know that will never be forgotten and I appreciate you!!!! I shall finish on this my mum was the strongest woman I know and to the very end never complained! 

‘Always pushing her kids and Grandkids to keep going and not have any Redeye or Hate in your Heart, hence why allot of you saw me Acting in this time or performing doing stand up and trying to make others smile when I wasn’t smiling!’

The actor concluded his message: ‘The reason I still say God is Good because he is thats how Mum raised us! Mum your watching over us now but I’m honoured to be your Son Love You ❤️.’ 

Richard was inundated with messages from celebrity pals who shared their condolences. 

Comedian Keith Lemon wrote: ‘Sending you love and magical powers mate xxxx,’ while Phat and Small’s Ben Ofoedu said: ‘My brother I am so sorry to hear this. My prayers are with you at this difficult time. So sorry ❤️.’

Coronation Street actress, Kirsty-Leigh Porter also shared her support: ‘So sorry for your loss Richard. Sending you all the love in the world ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ xxx’.

Meanwhile Great British Bake Off winner Nadiya Hussain confirmed that Richard and his mother are in her thoughts: ‘Our prayers are with you x’
