‘What could possibly go wrong?’ Home and Away stars Ada Nicodemou and Lynne McGranger start a bookclub while in lockdown… after production was halted for Seven’s soap

Home and Away stars Ada Nicodemou and Lynne McGranger have started an online bookclub while in lockdown amid the COVID-19 pandemic. 

On Tuesday, the actresses discussed Boy Swallows Universe by Trent Dalton on Instagram Live, in what will become a fortnightly event.   

Last month, production on Home and Away was halted to stop the spread of coronavirus, meaning Ada and Lynne suddenly have a lot of time on their hands.

Five days after production was halted,Ada and Lynne, who play Leah and Irene on the soap, announced their bookclub plans on Instagram. 

‘Lynne and I have decided to do a live bookclub because I love books and so does she and a lot of us do. And, I guess, in this time we need something to do,’ Ada said.  

Meanwhile, Lynne said: ‘Ada’s done it before, I haven’t. I’ll be winging it. I trust her completely. So yeah, turn us on guys!’ 

‘What could possibly go wrong?’ she jokingly captioned the post.

The actresses hosted their first online bookclub on Instagram Live at 6pm on Tuesday. 

And a few days later, Ada and Lynne announced their intention to make the bookclub a fortnightly event. 

‘A huge shoutout to the wonderful Gen Gannon for your book Mothers and the chocolates. Cannot wait to read it and eat them,’ Lynne wrote on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Ada said: ‘Have a read and let me know what you think. Our next bookclub will be live on Instagram in 2 weeks.’
