Hooded thugs launch barrage of fireworks into ticket hall at busy railway station

This is the moment hooded thugs launch a barrage of fireworks into the ticket hall at Sheffield’s busy railway station.
Two yobs could be seen holding the rockets like guns and shooting them at the building from across the road, as explosions lit up the entrance.
In a city currently under ‘Tier Two’ lockdown restrictions, and reportedly days away from even more limits on socialising, the louts ran across the road and continued to blast the fireworks into the station at close range.

They could be seen firing again and again into the ticket hall, which fortunately appeared to be empty.
It happened at Sheffield Station on Sunday and South Yorkshire Police are investigating.
Another video showed gangs of hooded thugs warring on the street with fireworks.
They could be seen blasting explosives at each other from either ends of a main road while passersby cower in their cars.
South Yorkshire Police call handlers have reportedly answered 82 calls concerning yobs with fireworks in just over a week.
Silver Commander for Dark Nights, Ch Supt Sarah Poolman, said: ‘We are already seeing an increase in incidents of anti-social behaviour involving children and fireworks.
‘Fireworks are dangerous, they pose a risk to people’s safety and their property, as well as causing distress to many people living nearby.
‘We know Halloween and Bonfire Night will be different this year for everyone, but anti-social use of fireworks is incredibly dangerous and frightening for victims and witnesses.’

Ch Supt Poolman added: ‘This sort of behaviour is not only unacceptable and dangerous, these youths are also wasting valuable resources from police and the fire service.
‘We have a limited amount of resources to respond to incidents.
‘By helping us teach children that this is not acceptable, you will help respond to those most in need and danger.’
Sheffield is currently at ‘Tier Two’ in the government’s new levels of lockdown restrictions, which limit socialising, allowing two households to meet in a private garden, as long as the rule of six and social distancing are followed.
However, the city’s director of public health said today it is a matter of when, not if, it moves into ‘Tier Three’ and experiences even more restrictions, including the closure of many businesses and venues.
