Hugh Jackman and his pyjama-clad daughter Ava, 14, step out in NYC

Hugh Jackman has been self-isolating in New York City with his wife, Deborra-lee Furness, and their two children, Oscar and Ava.

But on Tuesday, the Australian actor took a break from quarantine and enjoyed a brief stroll around his neighbourhood with his daughter.

The Wolverine star, 51, and a pyjama-clad Ava, 14, wore face masks to protect themselves as they took their dogs for a walk.

Hugh dressed comfortably in a grey jumper, navy pants, a hat and a pair of blue sneakers.

Ava sported printed pink pyjama pants, a matching jumper and black boots.

The pair chatted while walking their two pooches, Dali and Allegra, through the once-bustling streets of NYC, which are now almost empty.

Hugh, Deborra-lee and their two children have been based in New York for years.

But the Greatest Showman star is said to be contemplating a move back home to Sydney’s Bondi Beach, where he owns a $6million property. 

‘Hugh has privately considered a move back for years, but he never followed through with it because he has such a good life in the States,’ a source told New Idea.

‘Besides his career, there’s a solid support network and he and Deb are now die-hard New Yorkers. They love the spirit of the Big Apple, plus the pace and excitement of being in a city that never sleeps.’

But Hugh is reportedly missing having the beach at his backdoor and feels attached to the laid-back lifestyle in Australia.

He also wants to be closer to his extended family, and believes that moving back to Australia would give him the opportunity to boost the local film industry.
