Hugh Jackman wears a stylish black mask while on a solo stroll in New York – after the actor urged fans to ‘cover their face’ or risk a visit from Wolverine

He’s the affable Australian actor who is now based in New York with wife Deborra-Lee Furness and their two children.

And on Thursday, Hugh Jackman cut a low-key figure while out on a solo stroll in a quiet area of Manhattan.

The Greatest Showman star, 52, wore a black hooded sweater from his Laughing Man coffee company, tan trousers, blue sneakers and a stylish black face mask.

Hugh looked to be enjoying the fresh air, and was seen with a water bottle in hand. 

The sighting comes after the acclaimed triple threat used a graphic of his X-Men character, Logan, also known as Wolverine, to make a plea to his fans on Monday. 

Posted to Instagram, the image showed Logan in costume, holding up a sign which read: ‘Cover your face and save lives, or Logan is coming for you’.

In the accompanying caption, Hugh wrote: ‘What he said. #maskup #wolverine’. 

Hugh is a well known fan of using surgical masks, and is often seen wearing facial coverings while out on walks with his dogs in New York.    

In July, the Les Misérables actor revealed he was homesick for Australia after a lengthy lockdown in New York City due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Deborra-Lee, 64, and the couple’s children had initially been in Melbourne when COVID-19 was declared a pandemic in March.

But they returned to the U.S. just four days later in order to keep the family together.

Hugh and Deborra-Lee have been married since 1996 and are parents to two adopted children, Oscar, 20, and Ava, 15.
