Human Nature’s Toby Allen isolating at Brisbane hotel amid Sydney’s COVID-19 outbreak

Human Nature’s Toby Allen is now isolating at a Brisbane hotel amid Sydney’s COVID-19 outbreak… as the band is forced to perform the rest of their Christmas shows without him

Human Nature’s Toby Allen has been forced into isolation at a Brisbane hotel for 14 days as Sydney’s COVID-19 cluster grows.

Toby travelled independently from Sydney to Brisbane on Virgin flight 925, coming into close proximity with a passenger who may have been exposed to the virus.

The band issued a statement on their Instagram on Friday, announcing that his bandmates, who travelled separately from Sydney to Brisbane on Thursday night, will perform the rest of their Christmas shows this weekend, without him.

All passengers who boarded flight 925 have been instructed by Queensland Health to self-isolate for 14 days.

‘As a result, Toby is now in hotel isolation in Brisbane and under the supervision of Queensland Health authorities until further notice,’ the band’s statement read.

Bandmates Andrew Tierney, Mike Tierney and Phil Burton travelled separately to Toby from Sydney to Brisbane on Thursday evening, and are not required to quarantine or go for testing.

‘If Toby Allen becomes a case they will then be required to quarantine,’ the statement also said.

Human Nature will proceed with the remainder of their Christmas shows this weekend, without Toby.

They are scheduled to perform in Brisbane on Friday, the Gold Coast on Saturday, and in Canberra on Monday and Tuesday.

Concerns are growing amid a coronavirus outbreak on Sydney’s northern beaches, which saw case numbers spike to 28 on Friday.

NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has ordered 270,000 residents from the Spit Bridge to Palm Beach to stay at home for at least three days, although there isn’t an official lockdown in place.
