Iggy Azalea says she’s so bored in lockdown that she’s going to watch CATS

Iggy Azalea says she is ‘that bored’ under coronavirus lockdown she watched the movie CATS… even though her fans told her not to

Australian-born rapper Iggy Azalea is currently under lockdown amid the coronavirus outbreak.

And on Tuesday, the 29-year-old told fans she was going to watch the 2019 film Cats – which was universally panned – to help pass the time.

She wrote on Twitter: ‘I mean… am I about to watch “cats”… I am that bored.’

A fan told the US-based artist: ‘Don’t do it, it’s so bad.’

Iggy, who was born Amethyst Amelia Kelly, replied: ‘So bad that it becomes ironically good?’ 

‘I think that you should not, it’s horrible (or at least that’s what everyone is saying),’ another follower told the Fancy hitmaker. 

In defence of the film, Iggy said: ‘… you can’t say something is terrible with any kind of authority if you admit to not having actually seen it at all.’ 

She then added: ‘I’m about to go and see for myself.’ 

After a short time passed, she tweeted: ‘To clarify no one actually told me this was singing the entire time.’

Someone on Twitter commented: ‘It’s a musical Iggy, what’d you think?’

Iggy wrote back: ‘All the musicals I’ve ever seen involved a story line and regular dialogue to drive the narrative element with musical numbers throughout.’

She later added: ‘Whelp those were some talented cats, there’s no denying that.’

A fan later tweeted asking if she had already finished watching the film and Iggy replied: ‘Yes mine ended early for some reason.’

The Andrew Lloyd-Webber musical Cats, directed by Tom Hooper, starred Dame Judi Dench, Sir Ian McKellen, Rebel Wilson and Taylor Swift.

It was universally panned by critics and audiences for extensive visual effects that created with digital fur on the actors wearing motion capture suits.
