I’m a Celebrity’s Grant Denyer clashes with Robert ‘Dipper’ DiPierdomenico after the AFL legend falls asleep while cooking lunch

Tensions are set to erupt on Thursday’s episode of I’m a Celebrity as TV presenter Grant Denyer goes head to head with AFL great Robert ‘Dipper’ DiPierdomenico.

The outspoken stars will face off in a heated scene after Dipper, 62, falls asleep while cooking lunch for the campers.

In a preview for the episode, Family Feud host Grant, 43, recoiled in disgust after tasting Dipper’s overcooked rice and beans.

‘It’s like it was drained through his dirty sock,’ he raged.

Grant later confronted Dipper in front of the other campmates, telling him: ‘That food’s no good, man. Not a good start, mate.’

‘We can’t afford to miss a meal. I think if we’re on cooking duties we need to be up and awake,’ he added condescendingly.

Dipper remained silent and turned his back on Grant, but later returned to give the Gold Logie winner a piece of his mind.

‘I thought that was a little bit personal,’ the retired sportsman said, as the other celebrities watched on in shock.

‘At the end of the day, I’ll take responsibility,’ Dipper shrugged afterwards.

Standing up, Grant reasoned with him: ‘I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings or anything. None of us want to lose an entire meal, that’s all.’

Grant’s response apparently hit a nerve, however, as Dipper retorted in a  decidedly threatening manner.

‘No, but say it one more time [and] I’ll come and see you over there,’ Dipper said.

Cleary shocked, Grant replied: ‘Are you serious?’ to which Dipper simply said: ‘Let’s just leave it at that.’
