Inside Nick Cave’s new art exhibition in Copenhagen

An old typewriter, artwork and Kylie Minogue memorabilia: Inside Nick Cave’s very messy home office and new art exhibition

Australian singer Nick Cave has launched an art exhibition in Copenhagen that chronicles his life and five-decade artistic career.

In addition to giving fans a glimpse into his creative mind, the exhibition also touches on the tragic loss of the star’s son five years ago.

Included in the exhibit is a recreation of the 63-year-old’s home office, which appears to be where he writes much of his music.

The space features an old typewriter, artwork, stacks of books and paper strewn everywhere.

‘There was all this stuff and we started to piece together the idea of an exhibition,’ the Bad Seeds singer said at a press conference.

The exhibition also features Kylie Minogue memorabilia.

Nick and Kylie famously collaborated on the brooding ballad Where the Wild Roses Grow in 1995.

It peaked at No. 2 on the Australian charts and won Single of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Pop Release at the 1996 ARIA Awards.

Kylie celebrated the song’s 25th anniversary last month, writing: ‘How grateful I am to have this, forever and always. Love you Nick, your Eliza Day. Xx.’

Nick and wife Susie Bick married in 1999 and welcomed fraternal twin sons Arthur and Earl the following year.

The teenager stumbled off a 60ft cliff into the sheer Ovingdean Gap near Brighton in July 2015.

Nick’s most recent album Ghosteen, released last year, was written in the aftermath of the tragedy and explores the singer’s grief.
