Fans were led to believe she had parted ways from Locky Gilbert after she revealed that recent life events had ‘taken its toll’.
But Irena Srbinovska has how addressed the influx of split rumours as she shed some light on her secret heartbreak which led to her ‘stressed’ appearance over the last few weeks.
Speaking to Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson on Monday, the nurse, 31, explained that she was unsure that her father back home in Victoria would pull through after suffering a serious health scare.

When asked why Irena had claimed to be ‘stressed’ recently, Locky began by saying: ‘It is hard because everyone’s going to think it’s about us, but we’re doing great.
‘Irena has been worried. Her dad had a health scare and went into hospital, and that put stress on us just as we come over here [Perth].
Explaining that her dad was now ‘out of the woods’, Irena added: ‘There was a while where we didn’t know if he was going to make it or not.
‘I’m so far away from them, and I was feeling helpless in hotel quarantine.

Heartache: Explaining that her dad was now ‘out of the woods’, Irena added: ‘There was a while where we didn’t know if he was going to make it or not’
‘It was tough and really stressful, and with the time difference, just trying to communicate with anyone with my family was really hard.’
Irena added further insight into the emotional circumstances: ‘Being the nurse in the family, anytime there’s anything medical happening everyone calls me and I just couldn’t help anyone and all I wanted to do was see my dad.’
She also added that while people assumed they were on the verge of parting ways, they were, in fact, ‘better than ever’.
‘Locky is the main reason why I got through my dad being unwell. Those few days when we weren’t sure if he was going to make it, it was Locky that kept me calm.’

‘Had my first facial since February. This is me makeup-free and no filter,’ she began on a post shared to her Instagram Stories.
‘I have been under a lot of stress. Despite what you all see on socials, I’ve had a lot happen in my life over the last few weeks which has taken its toll on my health and skin,’ she said without giving further details.
The couple recently completed their 14 days of mandatory hotel quarantine in Perth.
Irena has quit her job, left her family and packed up her entire life to be with her beau on the other side of the country.
