MTV’s The Real World invented reality TV as we know it today.

And now it looks like the network might be returning to where the drama all began.

The Real World’s official Twitter account whipped up speculation about a season one reunion on Thursday after posting several silly references to the show inaugural season in 1992.

While MTV did not comment, a source tells DailyMail.com the network is considering the possibility of a big homecoming for the original cast.

Another insider close to production has confirmed the news, telling us that filming just wrapped.

The Twitter throwbacks started with a look at the New York apartment’s fish tank and a tweet asking ‘Name a more iconic group.’

Then there was a shot of the very-90s living room, which came complete with round red ottomans, a plush velvet couch and a frosted glass coffee table.

The accompany tweet said: ‘The perfect living room doesn’t exist.’

The account repeated the show’s iconic slogan, asking Twitter: ‘Remember when people stopped being polite and started getting real?’ while sharing a 10-minute clip of the show’s first episode. 

Season one of the pioneering reality show followed strangers Andre Comeau, Becky Blasband, Eric Nies, Heather Gardner, Julie Gentry, Kevin Powell, and Norman Korpi living together in an SoHo, New York loft.

The original would spawn 32 more seasons, taking the show from Hollywood to Boston and everywhere in between.

It would also springboard the careers of many roommates, notably actress/hostess Jamie Chung, Queen Eye’s Karamo Brown, soap star Kyle Brandt, WWE wrestler Mike ‘The Miz’ Mizanin and politician Sean Duffy.

The Real World parted ways with MTV back in 2017, citing the network’s changing demographics, but MTV partnered with Facebook Watch to produce The Real World: Atlanta in 2019.
