Jackie ‘O’ Henderson sets the record straight on her ‘bogan’ wedding to estranged husband Lee – as photos from the gaudy ceremony resurface

Radio host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson has set the record straight on rumours surrounding her wedding to now-estranged husband Lee.

The mother of one, 45, mentioned the fact many fans mistakenly believe a wedding-themed stunt she did with Lee in 2012 was actually a legally binding ceremony.

‘That’s not my wedding,’ Jackie said on The Kyle and Jackie O Show on Thursday. ‘That was a radio stunt called “Gypsy Wedding”, just so you know. That’s the only pictures everyone has.’

She added: ‘I feel like – I know I’m divorced – but I should actually just put my wedding photos out there so the media have them and they don’t run the gypsy weddings ones.’

Jackie isn’t wrong: several media outlets have published the photos of her and Lee dressed in gaudy pink wedding outfits and said it was their real nuptials.

The Hendersons did not release their wedding photos when they actually tied the knot in 2003, nine years before their ‘gypsy’ stunt.

Jackie and Lee announced their separation in late October 2018.

Despite saying on air she was ‘divorced’, her manager confirmed on Thursday they are still only separated. In Australia, you can’t file for a divorce until you have been separated for 12 months and one day, but the process takes longer in many cases.

‘After 18 years together, we have made the decision to separate. We do so amicably, sharing many incredible memories and remaining best friends,’ the KIIS FM host said in a statement.

The former couple share custody of a nine-year-old daughter named Kitty.

‘Our focus for this next chapter is of course our wonderful daughter and continuing to provide her love and happiness, together,’ the statement continued.

Speaking on The Kyle and Jackie O Show at the time, Jackie said she and Lee had been separated ‘for some time’ before making the announcement.

‘It’s not something that happened overnight for us,’ she said. ‘We wanted to keep that private for as long as we possibly could.

‘A separation is never easy so I feel lucky that we were able to get through that period of time dealing with it on our own.’
