Jackie ‘O’ Henderson worried about stamp duty on $11million Sydney home

Jackie ‘O’ Henderson asks NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian ‘a personal question’ about stamp duty after buying an $11million Sydney home

Jackie ‘O’ Henderson recently purchased a new home for herself and her nine-year-old daughter, Kitty, in the exclusive Sydney suburb of Woollahra.

But like many homeowners, the 45-year-old radio host had some queries about the stamp duty she paid on the new property.

Luckily, she was able to pose her question directly to NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian, who was a guest on The Kyle and Jackie O Show on Thursday.

Confused: Jackie ‘O’ Henderson recently purchased a new home but has some questions abuot stamp duty

‘I have a personal question,’ Jackie began. ‘I was having a conversation with my dad last night. I have recently bought a house and obviously paid a nice little amount of stamp duty.’

She added: ‘He said you guys are going to abolish stamp duty and replace it with land tax.

‘He said even though I have bought a house and paid my stamp duty, I will be hit up again with land tax whenever that comes into play.’

Fact or fiction: NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian was able to assure Jackie that the information her father told her was incorrect

Berejiklian noted that Jackie’s father was very ‘astute’, but clarified that the information about land tax was incorrect.

‘Your dad obviously is very astute and reads the paper and everything, but that was a few proposals which were put around by treasurers some time ago, but that’s not happening in NSW,’ she said.

It’s the first time Jackie has mentioned on air the fact she has bought a new home.

As reported by Domain on Tuesday, the media personality spent about $11million on the property known as Cooper Park House.

The 400 sqm property boasts six-metre ceilings in the living room, glass walls overlooking Cooper Park and a cantilevered study.

The purchase comes after Jackie and ex-husband Lee Henderson sold their former marital home in Vaucluse in March for $6.675million following their split in 2018.
