The star-studded House Of Gucci movie tells the story of the famous Italian fashion family and the murder of Maurizio Gucci in 1995 in a murder-for-hire plot orchestrated by his ex-wife Patrizia.

Adam Driver plays the ill-fated Maurizio and Lady Gaga plays Patrizia, who ended up spending 16 years in prison for her crime.

Leto plays Maurizio’s cousin Paolo Gucci, the son Of Aldo Gucci played  by Al Pacino, and shots from the location sets in Italy show Leto completely unrecognizable thanks to prosthetics and makeup.

Leto told Canada’s Global News this week that it had taken five hours to transform him into the character.

‘It was unforgettable and transformative,’ he shared.

‘I fell in love with the character. And I got to work with Al Pacino, he played my dad, and Ridley Scott, who was one of my favorite directors ever, and I learned so much. I was so excited just to be on that set and of course, working with Lady Gaga and Adam Driver was a dream.

He added: ‘I didn’t know the Gucci history, and it’s quite incredible. This story is fascinating, so I learned a lot about that.’

Meanwhile, members of the extended Gucci family have expressed their disappointment that Oscar–winning filmmaker Scott has pressed ahead with the movie project.

Patrizia Gucci, a second cousin of the murdered Mauricio, expressed their worries that the film will sensationalize the crime and exploit the famous family’s private lives.

‘They are stealing the identity of a family to make a profit, to increase the income of the Hollywood system,’ she said. ‘Our family has an identity, privacy. We can talk about everything. But there is a borderline that cannot be crossed.’
