Jesy Nelson ‘is offered £1MILLION deal to launch a clothing collection with PrettyLittleThing’

Jesy Nelson has reportedly been offered a £1million deal with PrettyLittleThing to launch her own clothing range.

The singer, 29, who is currently working on solo music, is thought to have been ‘inundated with lucrative deals’ since her exit from Little Mix, reports The Sun.

And the stylish star already has experience working with the online retailer after she and former bandmates – pregnant Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall and Perrie Edwards – released a capsule collection in 2019.

Little Mix released their sizzling capsule collection in November 2019, with the band all seen modelling the range in a slew of sexy snaps.

Their collection ‘cultivated true girl-band uniform with a nod to the 90s and noughties’, according to a spokesperson.

Umar Kamani, PrettyLittleThing’s CEO, said at the time: ‘The girls have been fans of PLT over the years so collaborating with them was an absolute pleasure on this project as they already had a huge attachment to the brand.

‘What’s so wonderful about this collaboration is Little Mix define unity and strength to young girls and women through their music but also they all have such unique and individual style which makes this collection so exciting because it’s so diverse.’

Reports of Jesy’s potential clothing range comes amid claims that she wants to ‘sever ties’ with her former bandmates following her exit from the group.

The musician, left the band in December and recently detailed how she felt ‘sad’ and ‘couldn’t deal with the pressure of being in a girlband’ during her 10-year stint topping the charts with Leigh-Anne, Jade and Perrie.

Several insiders have claimed that communications between Jesy and the trio have broken down – with there being no plans for them to perform together at the Brits despite Jesy having been in the band for the period their nod covers.

An insider recently told The Sun: ‘The plan was always to stay in touch but that just hasn’t happened because Jesy didn’t want it. She wants to sever ties and start again — that seems to be both professionally and personally.’

It is also alleged that Little Mix were shocked at some of what Jesy has said since leaving the band and thought she’d take longer to get back into the studio to launch her solo career, claiming that it has felt like a bit of a ‘dig’.

MailOnline has contacted Little Mix and Jesy Nelson’s representatives for further comment at the time.

The claims also come after some fans speculated that all might not be well within the group due to the timing of Leigh-Anne’s pregnancy announcement.

Leigh-Anne shared the news that she’s expecting her first child with fiancé Andre Gray on Tuesday – the same day that Jesy’s candid interview was published.

Jesy discussed her departure from Little Mix in the interview and voiced fears her mental health could have deteriorated to a fatal point.

Gracing the cover of Cosmopolitan’s June issue, the musician admitted she would have ‘ended up back where I was five years ago’ – following her suicide attempt – if she didn’t leave the band and ‘freed herself’ last December.

The singer also revealed featuring in the video for Sweet Melody marked her ‘breaking point’.

In 2019, Jesy bravely shared that she once tried to take her own life after years of relentless trolling, and went on to produce her award-winning BBC documentary, Jesy Nelson: Odd One Out, which detailed her struggles in the spotlight.

She said: ‘Whenever we have a music video I put an enormous amount of pressure on myself to try and lose weight. I have a fear of looking back on the camera.’

The artist said she left the set crying, before a close friend advised her to prioritise her mental health.

Jesy explained: ‘I’d been in lockdown, and I’d put on a bit of weight but I didn’t care. And they said, ”you’ve got a music video in a couple of weeks” and I just panicked. I went on this extreme diet, with bloody shakes, and tried to eat as little as possible.

‘On the day of the Sweet Melody video I had a panic attack on set because I didn’t look how I wanted to look and I found it so hard to just be happy and enjoy myself.’

Jesy explained that she had a panic attack and ended up sobbing in a dressing room before knowing she had to take a break.

The singer also addressed why she left Little Mix and her future plans to release solo music during the emotional interview.

She said: ‘I feel like there’s been a few people who don’t understand why I left Little Mix but am now in the studio making music. A lot of people said, ”I thought you came out of the band to focus on your mental health?”

‘I never said when I put out my statement, that I was coming out of the band to never be in the public eye, perform again or do music. I said I was coming out of the band because I genuinely couldn’t deal with the pressure of being in a girl band.

‘For people to think that I would just stop working completely is crazy because me working on my mental health is going to the studio, and creating music that I love. That’s what clears my head and makes me happy. It’s good for my mental health.’
