Jodie Marsh shares heartbreaking tribute to late mum Kristina on Mother’s Day

Jodie Marsh paid tribute to her late mum as she marked her first Mother’s Day since Kristina passed away last year. 

Alongside a picture of the pair, Jodie penned a heartfelt message where she described her mum as her ‘best friend, rock and hero’. 

Kristina tragically died in September after fighting an ‘aggressive growing cancer’.

Captioning her snap, Jodie reached out to other people who had lost their mothers or a child on the day.  

She wrote: ‘Happy heavenly Mother’s Day to my amazing mum. My best friend, my rock, my supporter, my confidant, my hero. 

‘Thinking of all those today who’ve lost a mother or child. I feel your pain’.

Jodie has been open about her grief on social media, and last year shared pictures and videos from her mother’s funeral. 

One heartbreaking clip saw Jodie fight back tears as she delivered a heart-wrenching eulogy for her late mum.

The former glamour model took to Instagram to document the emotional occasion, with her moving speech describing her mother as ‘the most beautiful soul that ever lived.’

Jodie shared a snippet from her lengthy eulogy to honour her late mum during her funeral, which had a limited attendance due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The Celebrity Big Brother star said that she was most grateful her mum got to meet her boyfriend Billy Collins-Nuttall, who has been a pillar of support throughout her grief.

She said: ‘She adored Billy and he adored her. They had their own unique bond and I take great comfort from that.

‘Mostly though I take comfort from know that mum got to see me truly happy and in love, it was all she wanted for me and I’m so grateful she got to know and lvoe illy I know she knew that Billy would be there for me and take care of me.And I know that she knew Billy is the one I’ve been waiting all my life for.

‘I’m nearly finished but I want to include this quote a friend gave me: ”On the darkest day when I feel, inadequate, unloved and unworthy, I remember whose daughter I am and I straighten my crown.”

‘My mum was fearless, loyal, brave, hardworking, kind, supportive, stylish, beautiful, elegant, class,y and so ridiculously clever. In Alison’s words mum was a stunning beautiful serene swan but so so powerful underneath.

‘What I’ve learned from mum is to always believe in yourself, never give up, always laugh, always be kind and to enjoy life as much as you possible can. My mum was genuinely the most beautiful soul that ever lived.’

Jodie then explained that the first song to be played was written by Billy especially for her mum and dad as a Christmas gift.

Captioning the video, she wrote: ‘My speech. This is just a tiny section of my speech yesterday. 

‘We are going to get the whole recording of the service but I’m so grateful to Lorraine for filming this while watching it live online. 

‘I watched it all back last night in bed and it gave me comfort. Mum would have loved the service and all the speeches. It was so beautiful.’

Following the funeral, Jodie shared a collection of snaps from the moving occasion, revealing mourners wore pink masks and received goodie bags featuring personalised shells in her mum’s honour.

Jodie also shared an image of her boyfriend Billy helping to carry Kristina’s coffin, alongside her close friend Colin, her dad and her brother.

She admitted that following her mum’s death last month she’s still ‘broken’, as shared a glimpse of the moving occasion.  

Ahead of the funeral, Jodie made it clear she was struggling with the day ahead, posing a gallery of snaps of her beloved mum writing: ‘Mum’ with a heart emoji. 

Jodie praised her partner for kindly agreeing to carry Kristina’s coffin into the crematorium, sharing her appreciation for him in a lengthy caption.

She said: ‘All the boys did so amazing today but Billy did me so proud. Billy and Colin (our best friend) were asked by dad to carry mum in with my dad and brother and Billy has been so stressed about it. 

‘It’s the biggest honour you can do for someone – carry them in – I think. And though Billy felt so honoured and privileged, he was so scared of messing up. 

‘I am so so so proud of him and I love him so much. He was literally amazing and so strong. Mum loved him so much and I’m so happy he was able to do this for her. 

‘He’s been my rock throughout all of her illness and now this. I can’t put into words how grateful I am for him x x x x x x x x x.’

In a later post, Jodie posted a gallery of snaps featuring her mum’s order of service, along with the flowers which she and her loved ones took home from the crematorium.

She wrote: ‘We all agreed that we would take the flowers home with us and not leave them at the crematorium. 

‘All the ladies got some, dad got some and I got these. I’m going to dry some and press some so I can keep them. They are all so beautiful.’

In September, Jodie revealed the devastating news that her mum had passed away after battling ‘aggressive growing cancer.’

Speaking to fans the star admitted she ‘didn’t know how to do life without her.’

She wrote: ‘My beautiful, kind, caring, generous, intelligent, funny, classy and incredible mum passed away this morning.

‘There will never be another woman like my mum. She was the strongest woman I’ve ever known. She was my best friend and I don’t know how to do life without her….’

Alongside the video, Jodie wrote: ‘This just came up on my Facebook. It’s me and my parents at @SimplyRedHQ – my mum is so cute and my dad is so dad like [laughing emojis].’

Jodie shared the same video to her Instagram, reiterating that she is hoping for her mother’s health to return.
