Karl Stefanovic weighs himself live on the Today show and clocks in at 105kg

Karl Stefanovic recently vowed to watch his diet and lose 10kg.

And on Tuesday, the 45-year-old kickstarted his 10-week weight loss challenge as he did his first weigh in live on the Today show.

Karl hopped on the scales in front of co-host Allison Langdon and obesity expert Dr Nick Fuller and weighed 105kg.

‘Obviously I’ve got a lot of clothes on and I’ve got microphone packs,’ Karl said, who weighed in on the show while wearing a suit and shoes.

Just before weighing himself in the Today show kitchen, Karl admitted that he was a little ’embarrassed’ about having his weight revealed on national television.

‘It is pretty embarrassing and I have to admit that to go and say, “alright, I’m going to weigh myself on national TV.”

He added: ‘And I think people out there would be aware of that and even to weigh yourself in front of another person, it’s something that is done in your bathroom.’

Allison showed her support for Karl and said that he didn’t have to jump on the scales on the show.

‘You don’t have to do it,’ Allison said.

But Karl told her that he’s ‘not upset about it,’ before weighing himself.

Dr Fuller said that over the next ten weeks, they want to focus on long-term weight loss and healthy eating habits.

‘Over the next 10 weeks what we’re going to be doing is educating the viewers on how to retrain the brain and prevent that emotional comfort eating, reaching for the treats, the processed foods,’ Dr Fuller said.

He added that breakfast should be the biggest meal of the day and that using chopsticks to eat dinner helps with portion control.

Last week, Karl spoke on the Today show and vowed to lose 10kg by eating a balanced diet.

While interviewing obesity expert Dr Nick Fuller about his healthy diet, Karl said: ‘I’ll put you to the test. I need to lose 10 kilos. If I follow your instructions to the letter of the law, how long will it take me to lose 10 kilos?’

Dr Fuller, who claimed that people that follow fad diets such at Atkins and Keto put on weight down the track, told Karl he’d help him lose the weight.

‘We will get you to lose the 10, but we will do this properly, so I don’t talk to you in five years time and you have stacked the weight back on,’ he said.

‘We don’t want to see photos on social media with you 30 kilos heavier. We want to see you lighter. You have to a role model for your kids,’ Dr Fuller added

Karl agreed, saying: ‘I’m committing to this and whoever wants to come along for a ride at home can come with us as well.’

In December, Karl joked about his weight after he was photographed at the beach in Byron Bay.

He shared one of the shirtless pap photos – in which he displayed a noticeably fuller figure – and joked that he looked pregnant.

It was just a hilarious way of confirming that his wife, Jasmine Yarbrough, was pregnant and expecting their first child.

‘After a great deal of speculation… the rumours are true,’ he captioned the picture at the time.

After refusing to comment on the pregnancy rumours for several weeks, Karl broke his silence after Daily Mail Australia published photos of him and Jasmine taken in Byron Bay on December 14.

The post not only confirmed Jasmine’s pregnancy, but also showed that Karl doesn’t mind making a joke about his dad bod.
