The mother-and-daughter duo looked care-free as they enjoyed a scenic stroll on the beach with their pet Golden Retriever.

Hardly seen since she was introduced to the world as a baby, Mia is already following in her famous mother’s footsteps, having recently made her first official acting debut in Italian director Carlo Lavagna’s feature film Shadows.

The psychological thriller, which premiered in October during Rome Film Festival, is set in a post-apocalyptic world in which people must avoid daylight to survive.

In November, aspiring actress Mia told Variety that she ‘couldn’t believe my luck’ when she landed the part as it was the first film she had auditioned for.

She told the publication: ‘I had just finished school, was free of exam hell, and felt excited, nervous and ready to start auditioning for things, and hoping that the opportunities to audition would come my way.’

And despite having an A-list actress mother, Mia admitted that she never spent much time around film sets while growing up.

She recalled: ‘It was always a special treat. It’s a very different experience when it is happening to you, and not just something I was getting to observe from time to time.

‘I really understand why my mum has always impressed on us how hard the work is. She is right! And I loved every second of it.’

In January, Kate told The Daily Mail’s Baz Bamigboye that she was yet to see Shadows as Mia was ‘quite nervous’ about her family seeing it.

The Oscar-winning actress also insisted that she has no objections to Mia following in her footsteps, she said: ‘The opposite. I said: “OK, you go for it, kiddo!”

‘The greatest thing for Mia is that she has that different surname. So, believe you me, she slipped right under the radar. They had no idea who her mummy was.’
